Melted Snowman Cookies
My son and I made these cookies as his birthday treat to bring to his classmates at school. Thanks to Truly Custom Cakery for the inspiration!
Bridal Shower Mini-Dress
I made cupcakes today for a friends' daughters bridal shower today. I also tried my hand at making a mini wedding dress. The bride's colors are chocolate brown and pink. I was very happy with it for my first attempt.
Dad's 80Th Birthday
I made these cupcakes for my dad's 80th birthday party on Saturday. I made mocha with a cappucino smbc, lemon with raspberry filling and raspberry smbc, triple choc fudge with vanilla smbc and spumoni cupcakes in little waffle bowls with hot fudge sauce and vanilla smbc made to look like little sundaes. Thanks to HobbyCaker for her cupcake stand design. DH and I made this, but the tiers are 10, 12, 14, 16 & 18 inches.
I took a fondant class today at the White Flower cake shop. It's a 4" cake that I covered in fondant and all flowers and decorations are made of fondant.
Baby In Tub
This is my attempt at the baby in the bubbles. Thanks to everyone who has posted their similar creations for their inspiration! The tub and bubbles are done in BC, everything else is in fondant, including the covering on the cake board. The mother-to-be has a classic Pooh theme, so that is why I added the bear, but it doesn't look too much like Pooh, being it was my first attempt at modeling figures.
Nick's 6Th Birthday
I made this for my son's 6th birthday. WASC with chocolate cream cheese icing. The tank is a devils food cake covered with satin ice. Chocolate rocks and plastic army guys. The sign is 'written' in holes to make it look like it was done with the guns.
Kindergarten Halloween Party
I made this for my son's kindergarten party today. I tried to make it look like the bats and ghosts were flying out of the jack o lantern.
Mil Birthday Cake
This is a pumpkin cheesecake that I baked for my MILs birthday. The daisies are gumpaste/fondant. My 5 year old son wrote the birthday message on rice paper and I added it to the plaque.
My Dad has a small farm and he loves to garden so I made this cake for his 77th birthday. WASC with chocolate buttercream. Covered in MMF in an attempt to look like a bushel basket. Veggies, worms, leaves all made of fondant. Dirt is crushed up cookies
These are my first attempt at cookie bouquets. NFSC w/ Antonia's RI. I made 7 of them for teacher appreciation gifts at my son's preschool. The plaque says "Imagination takes flight with a wonderful teacher like you." I had some trouble with them... but overall I think they came out ok.
Close Up Of Cross
I was really happy with the way the cross came out. Other elements of the cake did not come out as I had hoped, but the cross came pretty close to what I had wanted. This was the first time I had attempted anything like that.
William's First Communion
This is a cake I made for my godson's First Communion. It is WASC with raspberry mousse filling. There are pictures of him and his family on all four sides. The cross is made of fondant, which I dusted with gold luster dust, and crushed hard candies. I 'glued' the pieces together with royal icing.
This is a WASC cake with whipped icing and strawberry filling that I made for my friends daughter for her 6th birthday today. I made the tiara with candy melts (thanks to Missyek for the template) and brushed with gold luster dust. The large hearts on the sides are also candy melts.
I made this for my son's 5th birthday party. It was a two-layer almond sour cream cake with chocolate cream cheese icing. The mountain is rice crispy treats covered with fondant. I wanted to try to make a 3D cake of Lightning to put on here - but my son wanted all of Lightning's friends on the cake - which is way beyond my current talent level... hahaha.
I made this for a Halloween party today. My cakes looked like the image I had in my head... woooo hooo!! At the party you could even see where someone had squeezed one of the small pumpkins to see what it was... hahaha
