I found the idea for this cake here at cakecentral. It was a very fun theme and fairly easy to decorate. It did take me quite some time to decorate, especially since I'm still an amatuer (and probably will be for a long time, lol). I made this cake for my uncle's 40th birthday.
My son requested a firefighter themed cake for his 6th birthday. I had no idea what I was going to do, then I decided to flame around the sides of the cake and put a toy truck on top.....since I couldn't find any ideas anywhere. This is my third cake that I've made and decorated myself. Everyone loved the cake and my birthday boy was thrilled with it.
This is the second cake i made and decorated myself. I got the idea from an American Baby magazine (i think.....). Took me awhile to make since i had no instructions for the design but i'm petty satisfied with the end result and everyone loved it. (My birthday boy loved it sooooo much that he just couldn't keep his hands off it.....resulting in the messy spot on the left, lol....)
