This was my first try at a purse cake so I made it a mini one just in case I couldn't pull it off. I had so much fun doing this cake I can't wait to try a bigger version of it. The cake is 10" round butter yellow cake iced in b/c. The purse is devils food chocolate carved, iced in b/c and covered w/ fondant.
She wanted a cake with butterflies on it but did not want any fondant. I wasn't really happy with how well my b/c butterflies turned out.
2 sheetcakes stacked and carved to look like an antique car. Fondant detail work.
I would not have chosen these colors for a baby shower cake but that is what she wanted. I think in the end it turned out o.k. It is 3- 8" square cakes stacked and iced with b/c with fondant decor.
This cake was copied from a picture the bride gave me out of a magazine. It was so fun to do something different for a change. The butterflies are gumpaste that I painted with food coloring.
This was for an outdoor August Wedding in Mississippi. It was SO hot. I was so afraid the flowers and decor were going to slide off the cake.

Carved from an 11x15 sheetcake. Iced in bc with fondant decorations.
