Super Smash Bros
My son's birthday cake, meant to depict battles from Super Smash Bros. BC with gumpaste figures and letters. Thanks for looking!
Leaping Over The Hill!
Birthday cake for my BIL who just bought a motorcycle for his 40th birthday. Gumpaste figure, numbers and gravestones, BC frosting. TFL!
My attempt at a sushi roll. All BC with real chopsticks. The ruffle around the bottom is meant to be pickled ginger, but I'm not sure if that really worked out. Thanks for looking!
A Beatles cake for my daughter's 10th birthday. She helped me decide which songs to reference, we managed to get 15 songs and 2 albums on there. It's possibly the most cluttered cake ever, but I had a great time making it. Thanks for looking!
A bowl of chicken soup. BC with fondant vegetables, noodles and saltines. I brushed piping gel over the 'soup' to make it look wet. TFL!
Baby quilt cake for a baby shower. All BC. Thanks to all the beautiful cakes on CC for inspiration!
Happy Independence Day!
My first try with the Giant Cupcake pan. More trouble than it's worth, in my opinion, but everyone at the cookout loved the cake! I made another giant cupcake this weekend, and just carved it out of rounds, and that was really much easier for me.
I had to carve this one, the giant cupcake pan wasn't big enough. 4 layers of 8", one 6" on top, carved to shape. All buttercream, marble cake with cookies and cream filling, for a first birthday party. Thanks for looking!
My First Wedding Cake!
This is my first wedding cake AND my first BC roses. I see lots of things I can improve on, but overall, I'm pretty happy with it. I should have made the roses in more of a mound, but I didn't realize that until they were all one. Well, I know for next time. TFL!!
My neice's graduation cake. School colors are black and silver. Next go 'round, I will definitely buy black fondant, coloring it was horrible! Fondant covered with fondant decorations and gumpaste girl
Cake for the Girl Scout's end of year celebration; they were having a Luau. I used a grass tip on the sides and fondant flowers. Thanks for looking!
I don't really know the story behind this cake, but they wanted it centered around Betty Boop riding a motorcycle. All BC with gumpaste figure & letters. Thanks for looking!
The lady who ordered this said she wanted a SpongeBob cake and said 'just make something, I'm sure it will be fine." I sure hope she's happy with it! FBCT of SpongeBob, but the arms & legs broke, so I piped them on. TFL!
I had so much fun with this cake. It's for a high school graduation. Each side of the cake reflects something different about the girl's life. Her HS logo & grad year, the college she will attend, her major (business) and her main activity, horseback riding. The cap & diploma are gumpaste, all other deco is fondant. This is a 3 layer 10" cake, I added an extra layer so I'd have a little more room on the sides. TFL!
Strawberry Shortcake FBCT. I really had a tough time with the stripes on this one, I can't figure out how I kept slanting, I would swear I was going straight up & down! Thanks for looking!
I wasn't too pleased with how the figures came out on this one, but I didn't have time to do them over. Thanks to many cakes on CC for inspiration and to Cambo for walking me through the rocket. Gumpaste figures, carved cake rocket & fondant on cake. Thanks for looking!
