My baby boy's first birthday cake, for a beachy themed party! The octopus was his smash cake.
My son is crazy about Toy Story, so that's what we did for his 5th bday. He likes Buzz better so I decided to go more with a space theme. I am really happy with the way it came out!
My daughters 7th bday cake...she was very into ballerinas and everything girly. The tulle didn't come out the way I wanted...it wasn't stiff enough or something. And I think it needed something else on top like a tiara but I ran out of time to get one. She loved the cake, though...that's what counts!
My son's 4th bday cake. Dinos are mini wondermold cakes covered in fondant. Volcano was a half ball, all iced in buttercream. We put 4 candles at the top of the volcano...it looked *really* cool when they were lit!
Nephews 2nd birthday. He was in LOVE with "Veggies" as he called them! Bob is fondant over half a ball cake. Larry and all other details are fondant. Buttercream on bottom cake.
My daughters 6thd birthday cake. I did a strawberry shortcake theme. The finished cake had a big cupcake on top for my daughter but I don't have a picture that doesn't have my daughter in it :( .
This was my nephews 5th bday cake....it was a HUGE hit with everyone, especially the birthday boy! It was fun to make, too. The snake was made by taking a round cake, cutting a small circle from the middle (for the head) and then cutting the remaining cake in half and putting the ends together to make the S shape. The snake is fondant, the rest is buttercream, with gummy frogs and oreo cookie crumbs on top.
My neice's 3rd birthday cake. Strangest thing happened with this one. The frosting was purple when I left the house, but when I got to the party it had all turned blue!
This was my first (and only) attempt at a character pan. I wanted to do a dog cake for my son's 3rd bday so I used the bear pan and tried to alter it a little. I shaped it a little but once I got the frosting on you couldn't really tell. Oh well, he thought it was a dog, so I guess thats all that matters.
I made this cake for my DD's 5th birthday...she requested flowers and butterflies and this is what I came up with. It was HUGE....I used an 8x8 square and made 4 layers. It was a very tall cake!

This was my 2nd paid cake! The birthday (age 3) wanted snails and the mom suggested pink and orange for colors. This is what I came up with! All buttercream except for the fondant covering the heads/antennas and the 2 red flowers and leaves. I had fun with this cake!
This was for my son's 2nd birthday. He likes ducks so we went with that , combined with a construction theme. ;-) The hard hat is made of fondant, shaped over a bowl.

I made this for my sister's baby shower. 6" round on 8" square, all fondant except the pacifier. This was only the 2nd cake I've totally covered with fondant...the other one being in my Wilton class! Everyone loved how it came out!
This was my DD's 4th bday cake. She is a total girly girl, so the cake had to be pink of course! She wanted ladybugs too so there are two made out of fondant on the top. The fondant figure is supposed to represent her...doesn't look much like her, except for the pink dress and blonde hair. I had a bit of trouble with the fondant...the girl came out more "plump" than expected. ;-) Oh well!
This was a free cake I made for my SIL's Winnie the Pooh preschool. They loved it! It was supposed to have tigger too but I ran out of time. Sorry for the bad lighting...the colors were a bit different than it looks here.

This was for my neice's first birthday. All I was told was "make it girly." I love when that happens! ;-) There was a large cupcake that went on top for the smash cake, frosted in pink frosting.

I made this for my nephew's bday...my first sculpted cake. Wheels are Oreos. All b/c (they didn't want fondant. Ignore the marks in the frosting...I didn't have any Viva paper towels! ;-)

This was for my niece's 3rd birthday...she loved it! Cake is 11x15, buttercream with fondant figures (only my 2nd time trying to make figures) and Reese's Pieces for the "tiles."
Just a cake I did while messing around with leftover frosting. The orange scrolls are done completely freehand...my first time doing scrolls. The top scrolls were inprinted with the Wilton press. The sotas are there to cover up a big mess I made! LOL!
