Mother-In-Laws Birthday Cake
Surprise b'day cake for my m-i-l, Joy. Because her b'day is in Dec, I decided to do a Christmas-y cake. Yes, I shamelessly stole Sharon's cake idea from Boxes and Bows LOL! This cake was so easy to make! WASC with BC. Lid is fondant, bow is gumpaste airbrushed with lustre.

Baby Boy Shower Cake
Oh, the issues I had with this cake. Looks like my first attempt at BC, but I promise it's not! I live in the deeeep South, and we've had endless rain. My gumpaste bow still wasn't dry after FOUR DAYS, my BC refused to crust, on and on and on. But, mother to be was pleased, and that's all that matters. She chose the design, so I'm not sure who to thank. I'm pretty sure the topper is a Sugarshack design. White cake with BC filling and icing, MMF accents and RI petunias. Rattle is styro balls covered in MMF, and bow is gumpaste.

Pool Party!
White cake with BC filling/icing. All accents are fondant/gumpaste. I reached a profound conclusion with this cake. I SUCK AT SQUARES LOL! I really need to work on my lines. Anyway, I thought it came out well, except that I completely forgot to color my fondant for the fence posts. They were supposed to be brown. Sigh...

Fancy Nancy
Made for a little gir's 5th birthday. Strawberry cake with buttercream and MMF. Number and wand are gumpaste, ribbon roses, leaves, and bow loops are MMF, and the tiara is piped from RI. Thanks to all who've posted tutorials here on CC, and a special thanks to cakemommy75002. I drew a lot of inspiration from her Fancy Nancy cake.

21St B'day Cake
Made for my neice. WASC with BC and MMF. Bow on top is GP. I had to decorate this cake PRONTO, so the scrollwork isn't as neat as I'd like. Also, because I was in such a hurry, I didn't take a pic. I asked my husband to, and this is what I got LOL! Nice picnic table background, hunh? Oh well...at least she liked the cake!

Tanners Pirate Ship
What a blast this ship was! My first carved cake--what a learning experience! Strawberry cake filled with BC. Planks were hand cut from choc fondant. Everything is edible except the masts which are dowels used to support the cake. Very top heavy! Accents (barrels, gold/silver coins), treasure chest, rope, anchor, fish) were made from fondant/gumpaste. B'day boy was thrilled, and mom said she didn't want to cut it, so I think it was well received!

Ivory With Rose Petal Garlands
The bride wanted to use roses on the cake, but not as whole flowers. She loved the rose petal garlands-idea from Martha Stewarts website. Bottom tier is red velvet, middle is white, top is carrot. All iced in cream cheese buttercream, and covered in ivory MMF. Piped with royal icing dots.

Brushed Embroidery
A couple of firsts here...first time making MMF (love it!), first fondant cake in 8 yrs, and first time trying brushed embroidery. The fondant is awesome--I did everything wrong and it still came out great! It was so easy to work with. Also, this technique was much easier than I thought. All thanks to CC!
