Puppy cake before the icing went on...my husband cut out all the pieces and together we placed them on the cake. Many pieces are held together with toothpicks. The front and back haunches are large cupcakes and the rest of it was just shaped out of a square cake pan.
Second view of cake...if you look closely you can see where I messed up on the writing!
Birthday cake with dog on top. Very very time consuming!
Santa cookies I made for our son's 1st grade Christmas party.
Picture of the cake I was asked to make for our church's preschool department. They were having a Happy Birthday, Jesus party and the director wanted something nativity related. She loved the cake and all the little ones did too!
A cake I made to take to my husband's family get together. The "stuff" on top is not edible...I'm not that good.
Just another view of the Chips Ahoy cake
This is the first cake I've been paid to make. It was for a 6year old boy and his Mom said to keep it small and simple. It's chocolate on chocolate with mini Chips Ahoy around the borders and piled up in the middle. Overall, I was pleased with it!
This is a better shot of the border on the longhorn cake that I really disliked. It ended up looking like little spiders and spider web. I'm just not very good at stringing icing up and down like that....YET!
I was not happy with anything on this cake except the longhorn. The border ended up looking too much like Halloween. But, my best friends little boy, who the cake is for, LOVED it. I am getting better at this whole cake thing, but boy do I still have a lot to learn!
This is the very first cake I made all by myself after Wilton Course 1 class. I didn't volunteer to make it, my cousin forced me! It's chocolate on all layers with chocolate icing and buttercream roses. I was so nervous that the family wouldn't like it, but they did.
Patterened this cake after one in a Wilton book. She loved it! And I had so much fun making it! The party guests were very impressed as well, which made all the work worth it!
