My friend found a cake like this (larger with three tiers) on Google images and asked me to make one for her dad's 60th bday. I image this is probably a ccer's cake so whoever made this design first THANKS A BUNCH because you saved me having to think up a design for this 80's themed birthday! Plus I got the opportunity to learn how to make a disco ball.
Also made some cupcakes to got with the cake - little Guittard chocolate graduation caps!
Used the Wilton large 3D egg pan for these cakes.

Made last Ocotber for wedding that took place inthe Wild Animal Park in Escondido, CA. BC with fondant bamboo. Flowers from the florist.
21st Birthday cake inspired by the movie - "The Hangover" (bachelor party in Las Vegas results in a lost nite of partying only for the guys to wake up in their hotel suite in the morning to find a tiger in the bathroom). I used Susie108's tiger cake (from the 2009 Animal Cake Contest) as my model and I thank her for the hints on making this - not quite her artistic ability and I wish I lived by her so I could attend one of her art classes! Second cake was made to meet the servings requirement. BIrthday boy seemed pleased with it! Oh and shot glass is real which I filled with an adult beverage after getting to the party venue.
Same theme, more cupcakes, different designs...still fun to make. These made a big hit at my chiropractor's office when I took them into the staff.

40th Bday cake for a lady having an 80's theme party and wanted mini skirts, dancing, stiletto heals and tequila shots on her cake. Hard to see but there are black glittery notes on the top tier surrounding the girl. Thank you to Toptier for the inspiration of this cake.

First Bday cake for young lady in San Diego CA. Carriage is styrofoam ball with gumpaste wheels (Wilton 2009 design). Star wand is F/GP mix covered with pink sugar. Story is icing sheet from story sent to me by the bday girl's mother. Gold page edges were done with brushed on dry Super Gold luster dust (tried painting them first and figured out quickly that dry dusting worked better). Used two separate 9 X 13 rectangular pans for the book.

All fondant - hat is rice krispies head is 3" round and body 5" round. Thanks to melkneec for similar design for inspiration to make this little cake!
We had a pumpkin carving contest at work on Friday and this was my entry - I won 2nd place! Ate the cake at our Halloween party that night.
WIlton watermelon cake, corn on the cob from CC pages and a hamburger (meat made with Rice Krispy treats).
Cake for my nephew's wedding - I made the gumpaste flowers (transported them to Phoenix from CA for the wedding )and put on the cake baked and frosted by a local baker. The bride selected this from a Elise Strauss cake photo she saw in a magazine. Purple flowers around the base are real.
