Fish Bowl
My son spotted this cupcake in the Hello, Cupcake! book and wanted it for his fish themed birthday party. I did them after icing an actual cake for the party and kind of wimped out on them. They still turned out cute. I love the idea of them. They are chocolate surprise cupcakes iced in SMBC and covered in MMF. The goldfish are Honey Graham Goldfish crackers and the "rocks" are fish sprinkles.

Fishing For Fun
I made this for my sons' birthdays - they are turning 3 and 1. The figures on top represent them fishing for their number. (The 3 is upside down because the 3 year old insisted it be that way. I decided it was his cake...) The top tier was baked in a ramekin that had been buttered and sugared to give it a "sand" look. It's a chocolate cake and a yogurt sponge cake iced in SMBC and accents are MMF. Thanks for looking!

Out Of The Freezer
I'm getting ready to move and trying to use up as many things out of my freezer as possible. Everything on this cake had been made for another project and I just put them all together. It's a Hershey chocolate cake with raspberry cream filling and brown sugar vanilla SMBC. The flowers were left over from practice and the green was just a little I'd had left from a different cake. I think it turned out really nice for just being thrown together.

South Carolina Baseball Field
This is a WASC with strawberry filling covered in SMBC. The gentleman I made it for was from South Carolina and loved baseball. So I did a baseball field with palmettos. I felt like this cake was missing something. I was super tired when I did the writing, so that didn't turn out as nicely as I would have liked. I think it needed more color - and a SC and US flag, too. Any suggestions as to what would have made it look "finished" would be much appreciated!

Calogero's Baptism
An Italian Cream Cake with coconut filling covered in MMF. All accents are MMF. The letters are painted with gold pearl dust. I forgot to take a picture before I delivered it (hello?!) so the customer was kind enough to send this one to me. It's based on a photo given to me by the customer.

Retiring To The Beach
A darn good chocolate cake with mocha filling covered in white chocolate MMF. I made this for DH's boss who is retiring and moving to Florida. It's my first time modeling with fondant. DH is taking it to work in the morning. I've taken off the trees, but please say a prayer that it arrives in one piece.

Library Appreciation Day
I made this for a Sunday School Library Appreciation Day. It's a WASC with chocolate cream filling and covered in chocolate MMF. They requested a brown book. Since I've recently had a second child and have a toddler, too, I kept the design simple...I think this turned out pretty well. If my creative juices had gotten flowing a little earlier than as I was decorating, I would have made a library card sticking out of the top...

Farewell Suitcase
This cake did not turn out like I wanted at all...have you ever had one of those cakes where your children just won't stay out of your hair until you are so frustrated you can hardly work? That was this cake. It was for a lady in DH's office who was moving. Chocolate cake with chocolate filling and chocolate mmf. I did really like how the tag turned out, though. TFL

Dinosaur
A birthday cake for a teen who liked green and blue and loved dinosaurs as a young child. Red velvet iced with my grandma's red velvet icing (which was a pain to work with). The scales are fondant and the the accents are royal icing. I used a wonder mold pan for the body and carved the head and tail.

Pupcakes
I made these for my son's 2nd birthday. He's so excited to actually get to eat icing! They were inspired by an article in Family Circle. I followed their directions for using various candies, but next time I would just use royal icing and fondant for the accents. They were very fast to do - and easy.
