Basket Of Eggs
Ok, let me start by saying this cake was one disaster after another. DH made the fondant handle in the 11th hour so to speak as our beautiful braided on broke into pieces at the last minute. He did his level best on this and you gotta love him for it. Luckily it was just for family! Cake is marble with BTC, egg cookies decorated (mostly by DH) in RI. My heart wasn't in this cake and it shows but all in all it was OK I guess. Everyone really loved it especially the kids!

Chocolate Bridal Shower Cake
This was my first ever stratch cake! 12 X18 Hershey's "Perfect Chocolate Cake" with Hershey's "Perfect Chocolate Icing". BTC roses with Hershey kiss centers. Brides colors where Washington Redskins' maroon and yellow. Bride absolutely loved the pics her sister sent when I finished the cake!

Dh's First Cake!
This was extra cake for the part and I let DH do it. I had done 3 large cakes in 2 days and was really hurting so I let him go. I iced the cake and added the border and lettering but he did the rest. It's his idea of cornelli lace. He always helps me on a cake but never with the actual decorating. I figured what the heck! Turned out pretty nice to boot too!

Grandmother's 95Th Bday Cake
Tiered 16 x 12 and 13 x 9 fudge marble cakes w/BTC icing, fondant pillbox hat and gloves. This cake was for my Grandmother's 95th bday party. Those that know her know she never leaves the house without her hat an gloves on! First attempt at cornelli lace, molding fondant and such a large cake! Special thanks to KimAZ for the help with the gloves!!

Cutesy Anniversary Cake
This was my first attempt ever at a stacked cake AND a 3D cake. It was for an anniversary cake for a non-milestone anniversary. The DH bought it as a gift to her...she collects teddy bears and loves the color purple so this is what I came up with on their limited budget. I'm not sure how I like the 3D thing but I do know some things I would do differently. I also am still having trouble with smooth icing. All BTC.

Going Away/retirement Cake
This was my first FBTC transfer. It's the state of SC made into a golf course. I made this for family that had retired and was moving to SC and loves golfing! It was a last minute thing so the icing isn't the smoothest and I didn't have time or room to make it fancy with borders and such. The cake was a big hit and it wasn't too bad for my first FBTC transfer.

Lighthouse
I made this for my DH's 40th b-day.I used the Cape May lighthouse as it was where we honeymooned and he collects lighthouses. I freehand drew the lighthouse on the cake and filled the base in with stars. I used crushed graham crackers for the sand and put real seashells we collected on our honeymoon in the sand. on fortunately the cake board wasn't sturdy enough and bent the cake which caused the cracking effect around the lighthouse. I don't like the water and forgot to put the clouds and seagulls on!

First Wedding Cake!
This was my first attempt at a wedding cake. I entered it into our local county fair. I tried a peaches and cream theme. All the roses are royal icing(1st time) and the cake is frosted in ivory crusting BTC. I used the decorator's favorite's pattern press to map out the scroll work on the sides and for the heart. The "cakes" are 6" & 8" dummies so they would hold up in the unpredictable weather. I'm pretty proud of this cake however I think for the monogram part I should have used a smaller tip.

Unicorn Cake
I made this for my daughter's first b-day. I took the my little pony pan and added a cut to size sugar cone for the horn. covered it all in BTC. The stars have some gaps and if you look close enough you can see the chocolate cake through the tail but everyone loved it. I made a 6" BTC cake just for her but forgot to take a picture of that before she destroyed it. Still working on smoothing out that icing....it's twice as hard an a shaped pan!

Bass Cake 2
This is the same idea as before only this one I made and entered in our local county fair. As you can see it took 3rd but I think it needed more detail to it and perhaps it would have done beter. Maybe water affects or something. I ran out of time as the first one like this I made got destroyed and finished this one only an hour before the deadline! The hot humid days and damp rainy night really made the colors run but it held up the whole week!

Bass Cake
This was a spur of the moment cake for my Dad for Father's Day. It's all drawn on the cake using piping gel as an outline from a picture abd BTC icning. I covered the bass in tiny stars and then smooshed them all down to make the effect of scales. My DH made the lure (as I am clueless to these things). I didn't center the bass the best so I ran out of room for the wording and couldn't add another border.

Lilypad Cup Cakes
This was my first time EVER making cup cakes!! I had to make them to go along with my niece's frog b-day cake. She didn't want anyone to eat the cake! I couldn't keep the crumbs out of the icing though. They are shaped to look like lilypads using heart shaped baking tins. All BTC icing on chocolate cakes.

Frog Cake
This was the first time I tried making something from a character pan other then the orginal character. The cake is chocolate with a chocolate chip shaped cookie for the head. BTC icing. Once I took the picture I noticed the gaps between some of the stars but I was finishing this cake up at midnight! My niece absolutely loved it and wouldn't let anyone eat it (see lilypad cup cakes)!

Course 1 Final Cake
This is my final cake for Course 1. The intention was to have peach, rose and yellow roses but due to the humidity I wasn't able to get enough roses I liked in the two colors let alone trying a third! As it was the roses had melted by class time! I don't like the use of the yellow but I had already made and and used it on the bottom border so.....

Grandma's Congrats Cake
I made this cake before I took any classes. My 94 yr old Grandmother was made May Queen at her retirement home and they had a little party for her. The cake is 6" chocolate with BTC icing. I couldn't fit Congratulations on a cake that small so I hd to try twice (hence the cover marks on the cake's top)
