Zen Cake
This is totally unlike anything I would usually do. Thank you Brandi for the bamboo tutorial. The zen rocks are black fondant and the orchid blossoms are silk. I wish I had time to make them. The bamboo on the sides is RI first stenciled in white, then green. I like the overlap effect. bamboo tutorial

Udon
this was supposed to look like Udon Soup. Noodles are fondant pushed through clay gun, GP chopsticks, happy birthday written in Japanese. I baked the cake in a pyrex bowl. originally I made noodles and poured gelatin over them to make the "soup" but the "noodles" disolved so I put the gelatin down and then squeeed more noodles on top, not what I had hoped for but a quick fix as I was leaving to go to the party. also the gelatin turned into a melted mess, next time I will use piping gel for the soup
