I made this cake for my daughter's 8th birthday pool party at the park. This is only the second cake I have ever decorated. I used two 9x11 cake pans for the bottom and the Wilton butterfly pan for the top layer. I decorated the butterfly in the same colors as the invitations and party decorations. I used Wiltons color gel to get all the bright colors. I made the bottom look like the butterfly was in grass and made flowers to match the other decorations. Everyone loved it!
THIS WAS MY VERY FIRST CAKE!! I AM MAKING THIS CAKE FOR MY DAUGHTER'S 8TH BIRTHDAY (ONLY WITH DIFFERENT COLORS) AND I WANTED TO GET SOME PRACTICE. I USED THE WILTON BUTTERFLY PAN FROM MICHAELS AND MADE WILTONS BUTTERCREAM ICING. IT TURNED OUT PRETTY TASTY. I HAVE NEVER TAKEN A CAKE DECORATING CLASS BEFORE SO I WAS A LITTLE NERVOUS. I WILL BE PUTTING THIS CAKE ON TOP OF TWO SHEET CAKES FOR HER BIRTHDAY THOUGH.
MY DAUGHTER WANTED A BRATZ CAKE FOR HER 6TH BIRTHDAY. I HAVE A FRIEND THAT MAKES MY CAKES FOR MY KIDS AND I GOT THIS IDEA FROM THIS SITE. WE JUST CHANGED THE COLORS A LITTLE. SHE DREW IT BY HAND B/C SHE COULD NOT GET THE BCT TO WORK RIGHT. MY DAUGHTER AND EVERYONE AT THE PARTY LOVED IT!
