Rosette And Dome Practice Cake
I will be making a ladybug smashcake for a 1st birthday next week. I wanted to try out using a pyrex bowl for the 3D cake, and also to practice doing buttercream rosettes with the 1M tip. I did an oreo filling at it was amazing. Still need to practice my rosettes. And the pyrex bowl worked perfectly. I did have to adjust the baking time though about 15 minutes longer than the recipe calls for to ensure the center of the cake baked evenly.

This is my first attempt at doing a fondant figurine. I don't like how the collar turned out and the fondant cracked on me a bit. It was really soft to work with so i left it to dry a bit before sculpting which I think was the error. I really like the hair though. I stipled on brown gel coloring with a paint brush to get the buzzed military cut. Any suggestions?
