My First Wedding Anniversary Cake
Since I didn't get a real wedding cake, I made my own anniversary cake- I wanted it to look like a top layer so I wanted to go simple. My FAVORITE part, by far, are the bride & groom flamingos- I love pink flamingos, I wanted to get married at The Flamingo in Vegas, and mostly, I piped these by hand with Royal Icing. Yeah me!

First Attempt At Ganache And Gold Piping Gel
I made this for a friend's birthday- chocolate cake, chocolate hazelnut buttercream filling and milk chocolate ganache. This is my first try at ganace, I think I need to practice- had to put on two "coats" but it's pretty at least. I also made the gold piping gel- first time- need to practice that more, too, but I think the colors worked out pretty well together...

My First Real Attempt At Buttercream...
Baby shower cake for my cousin- thank goodness it was a gift and nobody had to pay for this ugly thing! Ok, it's not that bad, but I had incidents with crumbs and a bit of sliding during transport. Bottom tier is chocolate with cookies-n-cream mousse, top tier is a white almond cake with french vanilla mousse. (I couldn't think of anything else) Pink butter cream with chocolate butter cream accents... helpful hints will be appreciated! P.S. The stickers for the bottoms of the kisses turned out really cute!

Square Cake Covered In Chocolate Mmf
This is "Durable Cake for 3D and Wedding Cakes" from the recipe section, MMF made with chocolate marshmallows from MNFlowerGirl. I also painted the initials with luster dust and vodka- I need to work on my penmenship! This is my second attempt at fondant on a square cake- not too bad, not too good either, but I'll keep trying. Let me know if anyone has any suggestions, please!

"magic" Snowballs...
I made these with cast sugar and RI for friends in the office-each one has a picture of their kids/grandkids inside and a Christmas music box underneath. Everyone loved them- I especially like the glitter of the sugar-it reminds me of real snowballs, and I think the RI piping turned out pretty darn good, too...

Completed Haunted House
This is a replica of my house done up for Halloween. I especially love my graveyard- and yes, that is my mother and I in front by the cauldron... It's all sugar cookies and Royal Icing-except the wires to keep the little bats flying...and the posts to hold the front porch up-lollipop sticks, but the railing is all Royal Icing-I'm especially proud of those.

Haunted Sugar Cookie House
I'm so excited! I made a replica of my house-in sugar cookie! The windows are butterscotch and cinnamon disks crushed and melted, RI for decorations, including the railings, and MMF for the green roof... I'm going to clean it up some, but I'm so excited, I had to share this pic!

Purple Birthday Cake
I used a DH banana mix, chocolate buttercream, and very purple MMF (thanks to FlowergirlMN), RI scrolls, painted with NuSilver Luster Dust & vodka. It was my first attempt at a carved cake, it was supposed to be more "angley" but I chickened out and went with a less dramatic angle, unfortunately, that made it just look a little lop sided. Thankfully, the birthday girl didn't even notice! I also thought the cake wasn't quite "enough", so I created a sugar globe topper...

My First Wedding Cakes!
I got to make these for my cousin's wedding. She had a Nightmare Before Christmas theme, hence the topper, so I tried to be as unconventional as I could be. I used a boxed devils food mix with a strawberry puree & Dream Whip filling... There were some "issues" with the transportation/set up of the cake and the middle tier slid off! But we fixed it and I think it turned out not too bad for a first try. It was a learning experience: don't get funny about filling or BAD things can happen!
