My neighbors daughter wanted a hippo cake so this is what I put together after looking at other hippo cakes. Made it out of 8" rounds, mini loaf pan and cupcake tops for the nostrils, covered in MMF.
This was my first try at a mad-hatter/topsy turvy cake. It was also my first time stacking cakes. Thank you antonia74 and jikki5 for the inspiration for this cake.
I made this cake for my boss who was running a 100K(~60 mi) trail race. BC frosting with chocolate wafers for the trail and little edible rocks.
