Stack Of Books
Stack of books made for my granddaughter's end of year school party. Books covered in fondant with fondant letters. Pencil and erasers made of fondant. Apple made of candy clay by my granddaughter. She did a great job!! The board was covered with notebook paper with homework written on it in her handwriting. We covered the whole board with contact paper. The cake was on a cake board and was not touching the contact paper.

Yasmani's Mardi Gras Birthday
My 14 year old granddaughter wanted a Mardi Gras cake for her birthday in July. Her 16 year old sister helped make the cake by rolling all the balls for the border and cutting and placing the diamonds on the cake. The cake was iced in buttercream with fondant decorations and gumpaste masks with fondant accents. The feathers are real.

Vegetable Soup
This was a birthday cake for my Sunday School teacher. It was supposed to be a "bowl" of soup, but the bowl ended up as a lump fondant covered cake on my kitchen counter. So he got a "cup" of soup instead. The cake is iced in buttercream icing with a gumpaste handle and fondant veggies floating in a sea of colored piping gel. The crackers are made of gumpaste dusted with brown color dust and sugar sparkles as "salt". This was a really fun cake to make!!

Jewelry Box
This was a birthday cake for 3 ladies. Cake was Orange Creamsicle with buttercream icing. The accents were fondant and gumpaste. This was my first attempt at tufting on the lid. It was a learning experience. Granddaughter, Haley, helped me with the tufting and she made the jewelry. I wanted to put a band around the lid and add more jewelry but we ran out of time.

Peyton's 2Nd Birthday
This was my grandson's 2nd birthday cake. His 3 teenage siblings made all the rocks on the cake. Everything was edible except Diego and his car and the 2 candles on top of the mountain. I airbrushed the green and it was my first time using my airbrush. Need some practice!! All buttercream icing with fondant accents, piping gel water and Pecan Sandies "sand".

Haley's 15Th Spongebob
This was for my granddaughter's 15th birthday. She has an ongoing love affair with Spongebob. She told me this cake was "sick" (still can't get used to that being a good thing) and she wants this same cake every year for the rest of her life. Spongebob is a candy plaque. Darn Good Chocolate cake iced in buttercream with fondant decorations. Hamburger is RKT covered in fondant.

Peyton's First Birthday
My grandson's 1st birthday cake. Double layer 10" square on top of a single layer 9x13 buttercream icing with fondant accents. Head is a candy plaque, hands are royal icing mounted on fondant covered plastic dowel rod arms. First time doing the candy plaque and I'm happy with the way it turned out considering that both ears broke off when I unmolded the plaque and one of the hands broke in half. Had to do a lot of patching but I learned a lot of what not to do for the next time.

Sweet 16 Drum Set
I was so excited when asked to do a Sweet 16 cake thinking I was going to be making a frilly girly cake. WRONG!! Genna was getting a drum set for her birthday and her parents wanted something representing drums. My son helped me build the support system and the base which had flashing Christmas lights in it. The bass drum and the floor tom were dummies and everything was iced in buttercream with fondant accents. Thanks to all the wonderful drum set creators on CC for ideas and inspiration.

How Many Ways Can I Do A Soccer Ball
I have made so many soccer cakes that I just had to come up with something a little different. So I gave this one some attitude. The team colors were lime green and black and it was a girl's team so I added hot pink, a flower in the hair and a necklace. The soccer ball cake is covered in fondant and the base is buttercream with fondant flowers. I used an 8", 9", and 10" cake for the base. The base was Darn Good Chocolate Cake and the ball was WASC.
