We made this cake for practice and for an anniversary gift for my parents. It was our first time making a 3 tiered cake with dowels. We learned a lot!!! It was frosted in BC with fondant leaves, that were hand painted, and fondant numbers. It was fun and a learning experience!
Made this for an avid fisherman's birthday. The fish, sign and cattails are fondant. The fish is handpainted with food coloring. It was very difficult to get the fish to look right, it still doesn't look as good as I'd like, but the customer liked it, and that's the important part!
This was a cake done for a birthday that falls near the couple's anniversary, so they wanted a cake to celebrate both. The top tier of the cake is actually a heart. All of the heart accents are fondant.
I made this for my mom's birthday. She collects hummingbirds. The cake is frosted in bc, everything else is fondant. The hummingbird and branch it's on weren't quite dry enough, so they wilted a bit, need to remember to make things further in advance!

We made this for someone's 40th Birthday. His birthday is on Halloween and the theme of the party was Over the Hill/Halloween. The pumpkin is chocolate cake made in a small Pampered Chef batter bowl. Everything is BC except the face and the stem, which are fondant.
I did this for my dad's birthday. He recently became a big kayaking enthusiast, however, in white water he tended to fall out quite a bit, so that's what I did for his cake! I had made a better, more detailed kayak, but it was way too big for the cake! The kayak, rocks and man are fondant, everything else BC.
This was our 1st time making a teapot cake. It was a lot of fun, but a learning experience. Had some problems with the pink bc frosting fading to a peach color as it sat which made it not match the pink fondant handle and spout like it originally did, but my mom still loved it.

One year ago I got married, and ordered a cake from a Wilton wedding cake book. I ordered it 2 months in advance, and was assured that they could do the gumpaste orchids, etc, just like the picture. Well, on my wedding day, they show up with a cake covered with fake silk roses, they never even called to let me know they couldn't do it! So for my anniversary, I decided to make a small version of the cake, and this is it! Not too bad for being such a newbie, don't know why a professional couldn't do it!
I did this for my grandpa's birthday, he's a big Brewers fan. The bat and ball are both fondant. The Brewers logo is a FBCT, my first attempt at this...it was definitely a learning experience! Hopefully he'll like it!
