Frank 'en Boo
Cake made for my son's Class Halloween Party. We named the spider "En and the ghost Boo so we could manage a decent name for the cake :). Handcarved Orange cake and devil's food chocolate layers are alternating in both Frank and Boo. "En is orange cake with chocolate oreo cookie head. Cakes are all buttercream with fondant and candy accents - they are 100% edible. My son was so proud of "his cake" to share with his class.

Madagascar Birthday Cake
Cake is for a 2yr old's birthday. Vanilla and Chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream frosting. They requested a somewhat rustic cake, "we don't like the plastic look of fondant" this one is all buttercream, with the exception of the characters . The 4 main characters are finished with modeling chocolate and fondant. Melman (the giraffe) was a challenge to get the U shape of his neck without breaking it. I used Isomalt, melted and molded into a slim log, finally bending as it cooled, then covered in modeling chocolate. Cake is 100% edible with the exception of the skewers in the animals and the trunks of the trees

Cheeseburger And Beer
This cake was made for a family reunion. The family is spread across Canada and England, so my challenge was to build a cake that represented both Canada and England. They are a fun bunch so I decided to do a food theme. Canada is the Cheeseburger and England speaks for itself :). They loved the cakes. Cheeseburger is 3 layers of chocolate, vanilla buttercream and fondant. Condiments are modeling chocolate. Beer is carrot cake with cinnamon buttercream

Zebra Stripe Sixtieth Birthday
What a nightmare cake this was. Bottom was red velvet, but it didn't turn out quite right. The layers didn't rise very much during baking and then as they cooled they deflated a bit. Was a very weird texture for some reason. The top tier was lemon and turned out wonderful. You can see the height difference, although they were made to be the same height. As I left my driveway to deliver, on the turn the cake fell over, I screamed out loud lol - back into the house to repair, the bottom tier had cracked in half, the cake was too moist and was falling apart. Pulled it apart, added a few more bubble tea straws (which could have made matters worse, but didn't)..Thankfully my buttercream was crusted well :)...Repaired, delivered and whispered the cake fate to my daughter (she was hosting the event)...She surveyed the cake, giggled and said don't stress mama, it looks awesome...yikes my daughter needs her eyes checked or she is the sweetest baby girl in the world :)

Blues Clues
One of my very early on cakes. This is my 1st Blues Clues cake (I have done one more)...Chocolate cake, buttercream frosting and fondant Blue sitting in the upper corner. My son has loved Blue since he was about a year old. He is now 10yrs old and still loves blue. He has Cerebral Palsy and tends to hang onto things he loves, such as Blue. Every year when I ask what kind of cake he would like he talks about "the old days" when he had a blue cake... :) I might just have to make another one this year "for old times sake". Oh and the best about this cake, he loved it, screamed with delight and refused to eat it - he hates cake!!!!

Pooh And Tigger
Shower cake for my daughter's friend. Bottom is chocolate, hunny pot is lemon cream. Buttercream on bottom layer, hunny pot & all accessories are MMF. The "honey' on top of the pot is cooked sugar/candy with a tiny bit of colouring. First attempt at Pooh/Tigger, and I really wanted both to be the "baby" version, but unfortunately Pooh turned out as the classic and Tigger the baby version - hopefully the next one will be even better. Oh well, regardless the cake went over very well :)

Padded Bottoms
My neice' started hockey this year and spends alot of time on her bottom. She requested a special "HockeyPlayingGirl with all my equipment" for her cake. My first attempt at making and using MMF!!! Cake is chocolate devil's food Buttercream frosting. All decorations including "HockeyPlayingGirl is made from MMF. Was alot of fun to work with the MMF, but she's still a little squishy soft after sitting for 3days drying out.
