Alien Zombie Cake
Inspired by the incredibly talented ohnoono's Dead Man's Farm design. Base and neck are cake, faces sculpted from RK & modeling chocolate. This was my first attempt at sculpting something life-size, and it was far from perfect, but I had a great time working on it. Towards the end, I even found myself talking to him :-)

Fire Station Cake
Made for our local Fire Department's annual banquet. The cake is a replica of their new fire station. Station is vanilla butter cake, filled with vanilla-almond icing, and covered in fondant. The base cake is dark chocolate, with vanilla-almond icing. Loved making this cake for our local heroes.

Ladybug Cake
Wanted to try a new recipe and some new techniques (airbrushing) so I made this cake to take to work. It was a DISASTER from start to finish. First I accidentally hit the corner of a tier and broke a huge chunk off, so I decided I'd just make it a topsy turvey instead. The icing wouldn't smooth out, and my airbrush clogged and then sputtered color all over the icing. When I got the cake to work, we cut the first slice, and the rest literally disintegrated into miniature mountain of crumbs....oh, by the way, fresh blueberries really look quite nasty when baked into a cake. Definitely the WORST cake experience I've had so far. So glad it was for a free cake!

Over The Hill Beach Cake
Customer ordered an "over the hill" beach cake for his wife's 50th birthday. He asked that I include a skeleton, flip flops and a sand castle, so this is what I came up with. Hope his wife has a great sense of humor :-) WASC cake with vanilla almond buttercream filling & icing. Figures and shells are fondant and/or chocolate.

New York Engagement Cake
Engagement cake for a groom-to-be, who proposed to his girlfriend at the top of the Empire State Building. Wedding colors will be red/purple/black. Chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream filling and icing. Had a lot of trouble smoothing the icing and getting the fondant figures to dry, due to the ridiculous amount of rain and humidity we've had the last few days.
