Blooregard Q. Kazoo
This is a birthday cake for my brother (he's 32). Bloo is from Foster's home for Imaginary Friends (like my Eduardo cake). He is 4 6" cakes (chocolate and vanilla alternating) with a 1/2 sport ball top. Filled with strawberry bettercreme filling. He's covered in MMF, with MMF accents. I think he turned out pretty good. Hope he holds up until tomorrow. Thanks for looking!

Tootsie Roll Flowers
This is a german chocolate cake I made for my Boss' 56th anniversary. I wanted to pretty it up a bit, so I made some tootie roll flowers (and one caramel flower). They were amazed, and the cake was yummy! But, the flowers did start to "wilt" because of the moisture of the frosting. (after about maybe 6 or so hours). Thanks for looking!

Robert's Nintendo Gamecube
This is my version of the nintendo gamecube. Thanks to others, especially yoktom for their posts and inspiration. Mine is a NGC purple. Chocolate cake. This is my First fondant covered cake!!! Yeah. Happy to get that out of the way! The controller is rice crispie treat. All other pieces are 50/50. My son (7) came up with the idea to use the cord for Robert's name. Everyone was pleased and think it turned out great! Thanks for looking.

Jack Skellington Face
This is a 12" chocolate cake with white chocolate custard filling and buttercream frosting. I hollowed out the eyes a bit, because Jack's eyebrows are so expressive, and they are really what makes all of his expressions...tried to duplicate without using fondant. Also gave his nose a little height. I was very happy with this cake, and so was my now 16 year old niece. Thanks for looking.

Picnic Birthday
This is lemon with raspberry filling and lemon BC. All critters/leaves in MMF, tree in rice krispie with fondant trunk and BC leaves. It was a little heavy on the 6" round cake, but made it okay for about an hour. Used painting with gel techinque for leaves and raccoon. Don't think I'll be using gel again, too sticky! Thanks for looking. Just saw the pic, too bright! I tried without flash too, but they were worse, so I will attempt to fix my flash for better pics of cakes. :(

Eduardo Cake
This is a "normal cake" - spice cake with apple filling, cinnamon BC for crumb coat with caramel frosting topcoat. YUM! The figure is Eduardo from the cartoon Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends. He is standing in front of the cake, hiding it from Stu. He speaks Spanish on the show, so "he" wrote the banner!! He is fondant covered rice krispy. It was not the easiest thing to do, but I think it turned out cool!

In-Line Skate Cake
This was for my babysitter's daughter's skating birthday party. I would have made the "arch" of the skate more narrow, but it needed to feed more people (It kind of looks like a moon boot to me). It was a marble cake with strawberry BC. Gumpaste buckles and wheel frame, with ding-dong wheels. Went over well. Thanks for looking.

Grammy's Owl Cake
Grammy likes owls, so, this is what we did. She also says "happy to you" for "happy birthday", hence the smily face, #2, and letter U. Lemon cake with 4 layers, raspberry btwn 1 & 3, and cream cheese frosting btwn the middle. BC frosting with gumpaste owl. (gumpaste was a little old, so cracked a bit). I also did all little gumpaste flowers around the bottom. Thanks for looking!

Marigold Cake
This is a scratch banana cake with fluffernutter frosting (from the fluff cookbook)and live marigolds (which are edible, but noone ate). I love using fresh flowers when they are available. There are so many dark months here, that when nature provides something beautiful, I feel compelled to use it. The flowers are from my garden.

Uniqua Fbct Practice
This is my first ever FBCT. I made it TOO THICK, and couldn't squish it into the top frosting, so added another layer! The pic. is too bright, the colors for the spots were darker live. Cake is Strawberry from scratch from CC with crusting BC. First time using tips too. I embellished around Uniqua's head a bit, but that pic is a little fuzzy. Thanks for looking and providing your comments. I definately learned a lot!

Scratch Chocolate Cake
This was made for my mother's birthday cake. 3 layer chocolate cake with raspberry/currant filling and ganache (whipped and drizzled). The flowers are live cosmos. I had made gumpaste tulips, but our flowers are so beautiful now I wanted to take advantage of them. Thanks for looking.

Baseball Diamond Cake
This is a 12" square cake with BC. It was completed before I ever saw this site (as are most of my posted cakes to date). The date on the pic. is wrong, should be 6-10-06. I am starting to become comfident to actually write on the cake, but I used those pre-made letters here. ugh. Well, it tasted great anyway! Thanks for looking.

Twins Tub Cake
This is my first try with gum paste. It is heavy! Over the course of the day, the Kids (my twin nieces) really started to tip to the back. Other really DUMB DUMB idea was to use jell-o! The gumpaste obviously started to melt!! STUPID, STUPID Idea!! Well, you live and learn. Maybe I should actually take a class or something! Anyway, all the family and friends thought it was cool. I really liked the Ivory soap. The lines in the tile messed up during transfer to my sisters house. Thanks for looking!

Backyardigans Cake
This cake is for my daughter's 6th birthday. There is an episode of the show where they are in the jungle...that is what she wanted. Well, I am not talented enough to make figures out of fondant yet, so I downloaded them off the internet, "laminated" them with clear contact paper, and made a jungle. She was excited, and the cake tasted great.

Pizza Cake
This cake is for my daughter's 2nd birthday. I asked her what kind of cake she wanted, and her reply (practically the only word she uses) was "pizza!" It's a 12" round, with BC tinted for sauce, grated white chocolate cheese, and fruits cut for the veggies. Was a huge hit. Even had a "table" for the center!!
