Chocolate cake with mocha buttercream filling, chocolate buttercream frosting and wrapped with plastic chocolate. I also used the extra cake and mocha buttercream to make truffles that were then dusted with cocoa and then used to fill the top....and then accented with fresh flowers.
I made this cake for my friend Patti's birthday. THe bottom layer is lemon with a strawberry filling. Layer 2 is carrot cake w/cream cheese filling and the top is chocolate cherry with a chocolate cherry filling.

This cake was my Course 3 final and for a co-workers birthday. The 10" cake is a peppermint cake and the 6" is a chocolate fudge. I was trying to go for a Winter Wonderland theme and feel that I sort of met that goal. I really hate the fondant covering but do like making the decorations & flowers using it. I guess that fondant is a necessary evil though if I want to do wedding cakes.
