This is a very dense pound cake carved into a ham shape. It is covered in green fondant and the black "etchings" are royal icing. The eggs are fondant with some piping gel brushed on to make them shiny. The fork is molded gumpaste around a bamboo skewer and inserted when dry.
This was for a 1980's themed party. The "M" is buttercream and the records and "tv" are shortbread cookies decorated with royal icing.
This shaped cake has a chocolate center dyed red. The outside is made out of fondant, and was "painted" and shaded using a cake paint we created out of buttercream icing, vanilla extract, water and Wilton dye! We got the idea from "Steel Magnolias"
This is a full sheet cake I did for a cast party. The little suits are fondant cut out with clay cookie cutters.
This is a 2 layer oval cake I did during a demo for Michaels. It is buttercream with a mixed tip basketweave. Just for fun
This is a 1/2 sheet cake I designed for a luau themed party. The birthday girl is a big Polly pockets fan so I put her on an island of a cupcake top with crushed nilla wafers for sand. The water is tinted piping gel. Flowers are 2D star flowers
This is a 1/2 sheet cake for a mom who wanted the design of her daughter's party invitations mimiced on the cake without having to eat a picture of tinkerbell. The little girl is a purple freak so I went purple crazy.
This is a 1/2 sheet cake cake with a sota design to resemble a blanket. On top is a stand-up bear with peanut butter icing for "fur" and chocolate candy eyes.
