Cake for our 12 year old dog's birthday :-) Modified from a cake in the 2008 Wilton Yearbook. I have to say that I HATE drop stars!
DD's (age 8 ) present cake from Course 3. We cheated & I helped her make the bow with gumpaste ahead of time, but she did the rest in class. She loves working with fondant but hates eating it.
DD (age 8 ) didn't actually take course 2, but wanted me to teach her basketweave & the RI flowers so she could make this cake. Birds & birdhouse are RI also because I hate color flow and refused to buy color flow mix just for this!
DD's (age 8 ) Course 1 final cake. She hated doing roses so she chose another cake from the course 1 booklet.
Cake for my father-in-law's birthday. BC with MMF decorations.
Mini-wondermold cakes covered in fondant & topped with jelly beans. I got the idea from an old Wilton Yearbook.
Close up of F & G box with dasies
Second cake from Fondant & Gumpaste class.
DD (age 8 ) made my Mother's Day cake using leftover fondant roses from my course 3 cake. She did the other fondant flowers & BC decorations by herself after I helped her Viva it.
Final cake from course 3. I'm not thrilled with fondant roses, but overall happy with it.
Course 2 final cake with leftover BC from DS's birthday cake (therefore the odd color). I forgot to bring green for the vines & leaves!
Star Wars Episode III cake for DS's birthday. Chocolate chip cake with chocolate BC & regular BC for lava.
Valentine NFSC with MMF & candy melts accent. A big thank you to whomever mentioned using candy melts instead of royal because it dries faster!
Plankton for DH's birthday. Cake was a joint effort between me & DD, I did Plankton and she did the writing. Please ignore the finger pokes from DS ;-)
Bratz for DD's 8th birthday; small cake just for the family. Had some smudging trouble with her hair.
Spongebob for my daughters birthday party. Thanks to the CC galleries for inspiration!
This cake was for our dog's birthday (any excuse to make a cake!); I baked the cake and made the frosting, and my 7 year old daughter did the decorating. She was frustrated because she couldn't get the icing smooth, but then I told her how to Viva and she was much happier.
My dad's birthday is two days before Halloween, so I had to do a Halloween cake!
First try at a 3d cake, I used two bundt pans & an ice cream cone for the stem. I had some trouble with smoothing my BC, but it's still good enough to eat!
Cupcakes for school Halloween party
The Nordicware stadium bundt pan. After baking I realized I didn't have any cake boards left, otherwise I would have done the field area green. The pan overflowed a bit so the bottom edge is a little rough where I had to trim it.
My first attempt at a "real" cake and first FBCT. My husband coaches HS football, and their first game is tonight so I had to make a cake! Definitely room for improvment, but I'm pretty happy with it for a first try.
