Live Cake Challenge Final: Baby Shower For Twins!
This was my cake I made as part of the first Live Cake Challenge at the AZ Cake and Sugar Arts Show. I was one of three contestants and the surprise theme was "Baby Shower for Twins". I only had two tips, two colors, a handful of fondant, and an hour to complete the cake. I think this is the fastest I've ever whipped up a full basketweave on a cake! I had a LOT of fun, and many thanks to KimAZ for the pics!

Purple Flame Guitar W/chocolate Ipod
Made this weekend for a 12 yr. old girl. She loves music and got a real electric guitar for her birthday. Single layer triple chocolate cake carved from two 9x13 sheet cakes. Iced with milk and white chocolate butter cream. The iPod is also made from white chocolate. The fret board and pointed tops of the guitar gave me some problems, but overall I was thrilled with the end results. :D

Portal Companion Gingerbread Cube
The cake is a lie...but the cookie is not :) For my birthday one of my friend got me The Orange Box. (a really popular video game) One of the games is called "Portal", and it's a fun puzzle game. The cube is your beloved companion, so I paid tribute to mine in the form of gingerbread since i didn't have cake :)

Spiced Eggnog Cupcake
This is the only photo that turned out :( I made these for my office on Christmas Eve. The cake is the Eggnog cake recipe here on CC, the frosting is my own creation (Spiced Eggnog), topped with French Vanilla pirouette cookies and a sprinkle of nutmeg. They were very elegant and even more yummy :)

Chocolate Birthday Cake
This was made for my co-worker's son. He broke his arm in an accident at work and had to have surgery on it two days before his birthday. She told me he was sad he didn't get to have cake or celebrate, so I made this for her to take to him for when he came home from the hospital. :)

Ninja Turtle Pinata Cake
I got the idea for this cake here on CC!! This cake was for the son of one of the ladies who works with my sis-in-law at the church nursery. The center of the cake is hollow and I filled it with jolly ranchers, gumballs, and taffy. I made a candy coat using Green Wilton candy melts. I chilled it overnight and the coating wrinkled and cracked some. My buttercream crumb coat sort of sank to the bottom but thankfully it looks like Michaelangelo's chin. His bandanna is made of fondant. The little boy LOVED it!!

Neon Course Iii Wedding Cake
This was my first ever tiered cake and my final for Course III. As usual, I did not go with the course book design and I made up my own. This cake was BRIGHT! I even made the cakes match the colors. The top tier was Lemon cake and the bottom tier was Marachino Cherry cake. The flowers and leaves are made of fondant, and I sprinkled a lot of shimmer dust on it to make it sparkle. :)

Strawberry Sheet Cake
Quarter size sheet cake. I made this for work. It matched my Course II final so everyone at work could have a piece. I freehanded the design which is why some of the diamonds are odd sizes. This is actually a Devil's Food cake! The Course II cake can be found here: http://cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=865703

German Chocolate Cake
This cake was made for a friend who adores german chocolate cake. I think I like using square pans rather than circles :) German chocolate cake, coconut pecan caramel filling and topping, chocolate buttercream, and the dutch chocolate triangles have caramel and pecan pieces in them. I was allowed to have a piece of this cake and it tasted better than it looked....my best cake to date by far!

Cactus Cake
Our Unit Chief at work was being promoted to Commisioner, so we had a Wild West BBQ potluck in her honor. This was one of my first ever cakes, and the first time I ever used homemade cream cheese icing, which I soon discovered was not the best idea for decorations. *LOL* I also didn't plan for enough room to write the Congrats message, so I filled the space in with a little cacti. I learned a lot from this one! Strawberry Marble cake, cream cheese icing, and some leftover crumbs as the "sand"

Go Go Godzilla!
"Ooops, did I just destroy Tokyo?" A Godzilla cake made from a 3-D Bear pan. It was for my sister's 30th birthday and she's a huge Godzilla fan. I sculpted a tail out of two mini loaf cakes. His claws and tail spikes are contrustion paper, I'm afraid. He was the third ever decorated cake. He looks so cute!
