Cake With Fresh Flowers

Cake With Fresh Flowers

I topped the cake with floral foam w/ wax paper under it, so it wouldn't touch the cake and anchored it w/ skewers as well. I did put the flowers in the foam first before putting it on the cake. I used flowers that would last a long time and didn't have stamens to sprinkle pollen.

Cotton-Pickin Cake

Cotton-Pickin Cake

This cake is made with mandarin oranges and frosted with Cool Whip, vanilla pudding and crushed pineapple--which makes it really light and not too rich. I garnished it with curled orange peel from 6 medium oranges.

Star Wars Clone Trooper

Star Wars Clone Trooper

We made this 6 layer cake for my son's 8th B-day. We used 6- 8in layers and carved it into the shape of the helmet and rice crispy treats for the top, side and front of the helmet. We used frosting (it was really hard to get smooth with the shape of the cake, but it tastes better than fondant --in my opinion) and fondant for the rest of the details.
