Carved cake dummies covered in fondant using rose petal cutters. Wings are rice paper with a wire along curved edge for support and to anchor into the body. The base color of the fondant was tinted with a teal and green combo, then airbrushed in teal with an overspray in purple with purple accents and a final spray with a pearl shimmer. Fire is rice paper held together with fondant and attached to the cake with a wire. The cake board is covered with fondant balls flattened to resemble stones. Won 1st place in the birthday cake category and best in division at the county fair.

Other sea life and plants were made from royal icing or fondant. I used molds for the shells and starfish. The sand is brown sugar held in place with gel. Rocks are chocolate rocks. Won 1st place in the other cake category at the county fair last year!
