My dad's birthday cake. White buttercream that I left "spattered" with cake crumbs and fondant strips on top for the ridges. Those are Snickers bars scattered about the seat... I "doctored" them a bit with the microwave. I also laughed for about an hour after I took this picture.
I sometimes bake out of boredom. These cupcakes were just for fun... and more yummy than pretty. I used Debra Steward's Chocolate Fudge Buttercream Frosting for the icing. So good!
I have brand new respect for all you buttercream artists... Whew! Here is my first cake post... A birthday cake for a girlfriend of mine... chocolate cake, peppermint BC filling and regular BC on the outside. Constructive criticism is welcome and probably needed! I apologize for the photo quality... camera phones are terrible! Thanks for all your help CC members!
