i got inspiration from a decorating book i saw. this is my favorite cake to make. sad thing is, after the kids see it, the cake doesn't usually last long enough to be seen by the adults...lol :)
i made this as a practice cake (i occasionally make practice cakes and give them to ppl when i want to learn a new technique) it is all fondant.
i wanted a cake that i could try out fondant roses and simple piping techniques. i saw this in a magazine, although mine is a lot smaller and a lot less decoration.
this was my first attempt at fondant or and real decorated cake. it was all vanilla cake with BC filling and decorations are entirely fondant........and i know now that i used too much cornstarch. LOL :)
