My Mil's Birthday was on Easter Sunday, so I made the easter bunny celebrating her birthday. Pound cake, with buttercream covered in MMF. Gumpaste decorations. Big thanks to FiveRushings for the inspiration and answering a few questions.
I made this cake for my Aunt's 50th birthday. I had 3 days notice, and I'm moving this weekend so I didn't have much time to do a big fancy cake. I decided instead of making the decoration by hand, I'd just get plastic ones. They are from a Polly Pocket set. The sand is made of ground up shortbread cookies mixed with some graham cracker crumbs.
I made this cake for my son's 3rd Birthday. He's a HUGE Thomas fan, but asked for Gordon to be on his cake. I saw a cake similar to this on another cake site and he asked for THAT cake LOL, so here's my version. Everything is edible except for Gordon. He wanted one he could play with, so I bought a toy one.
More of a Dragosaur, because we thought it looked like a cross between a dinosaur and dragon! It's my first dragon cake :) Chocolate cake, buttercream icing and fondant spikes.
Made for a friends daughter's third birthday. Chocolate cake, with chocolate buttercream icing. Waterfall and grass/bushes/tree leaves are coloured buuttercream. Tree trunks are twix bars. Rocks, Stars and the number 3 are fondant.
Made for my son's first birthday. We had a bbq and his favourite food is a hamburger, so this cake fit in so well! The patty is brownie, and the bun is a golden cake. I iced the brownie with chocolate icing and added "grill marks" with black sprinkles. The mustard and ketchup is coloured icing. I also frosted the "buns" with a very light brown icing, and put sliced almonds on the top for sesame seeds.
Made for a friend who is obsessed with Dukes of Hazzard. He requested the flag from the top of the General Lee for his birthday this year. This cake took me ALOT longer than I thought, but it turned out great!
My SIL's baby shower cake. I covered the "tub" in fondant and the water is blue BC icing. The soap, towel and bubbles are fondant, and the duck is a rubber duck bath toy.
