Just wanted to see if I could do a Hello Kitty cake.
Did this cake for a friend's dad. My first attempt at a full torso..I think it came out ok. Although, on the side view you can see a little too thick on the "skin" fondant under the black. Chocolate cake with Baileys Irish Cream buttercream.
Cake for my bff. She is a Halloween baby and for once in her life wanted a cake that wasn't Halloween themed. She said, "I want a girlie cake. Flowers, pink, black..as girlie as you can think of." So that's what I did. Fondant flowers and gumpaste leaves. Chocolate cake with chocolate mint buttercream.
First attempt at using an imprint mat and I was pretty pleased. I know now though not to try and using filling in the "girls" area because they started to slip a little under the fondant after a bit. Most important thing is he enjoyed it though. :)
