Cupcake Tower
This is a cupcake tower I made for an open house wedding reception my husband's family threw for us in his hometown. There was supposed to be a 6" cake on the top that was like the one we had at the wedding, but for some reason the cake wasn't fully baked when I took it out of the oven and it was a big mess! Since I didn't have enough time to bake another one, I just put the cake topper on the top of the tower. Between my husband and I, we came up with the construction for the actual tower.

Baptism Cake
This is a cake I made for my niece's baptism which was on Easter Sunday. I wanted it to look like the book was sitting in a bunch of flowers. The cake was vanilla WASC, icing and flowers were swiss meringue buttercream (flowers were frozen then put on the cake and allowed to thaw) and it had a blackberry mousse filling.

Red Or Burgandy Wedding Cake
I made this for my friend's wedding, and it was the first wedding cake (and only so far) I have made. I stressed out over it quite a bit because I had to make it at night since it was late July and I didn't have airconditioning in my apartment. It was a raspberry chocolate cake with Italian Merangue Buttercream frosting which I used almond and orange flavorings in. Each layer was torted into 3 layers and filled with a mixture of the IMBC and raspberry filling. The flowers are silk so I could arrange them ahead of time.

Love Bug Cookies
I saw these Love Bug cookies being made on Martha Stewart and thought they were great! I had to make some modifications to the cookie because I could not find a lady bug cookie cutter, so I used an egg shape for the body, a circle for the head and patted the two together. I then took a leaf cutter I had to cut out the triangle to make the wings. I frosted them with royal icing so I could mail them to family members. I also used squeeze bottles to decorate instead of using decorating tips and bags. The hearts are the wilton hearts candies.

Thomas The Train
My twin nephews LOVE Thomas the Train so it was only natural to make them a Thomas cake for their 3rd birthday. The cake was made in the Thomas character pan, which I rented from a local cake shop. I had to return the pan before I decorated it, so the face looks a little differnent than Thomas' actual face..but the twins didn't notice. I also don't care for the look of the star cakes, so I frosted it all smooth.

Basket Full Of Leaves Cake
I made this cake for the first Thanksgiving I spent with my boyfriend's (now husband's) family. It was also my first go at using MMF and I think it turned out a little softer than it was supposed to. We had to transport it from Northern Minnesota to Eastern Nebraska and it kind of "melted" in transport...so I had to do some repositioning once we got to Nebraska.

Flower Cluster Cake
I made this cake for a friend's bridal shower, I modeled it after a cake I saw in the wilton school decorating cakes reference and idea guide book. We were good camping friends so it was a s'more cake. Graham cracker flavored cake, with a fudge filling and marshmallow buttercream frosting. The flowers are royal icing drop flowers in light purple with dark purple centers.

Horse Cupcakes
These are some cupcakes I made for an event my mom put on for her horse tack store. The "bay" horses are chocolate cake, the "gray' horses are white cake, and the "palomino" horses are carrot cake. The noses are either the small size york peppermint patties, or nilla wafers and the ears are bugels chips that I cut down to size. I got the idea from article I saw in family circle magazine a few years ago and finally had the chance to make them. I did make a few changes and used less candies. I made about 50 total and each one had different face markings.

Raspberry Cake
This is a birthday cake I made for my friend modeled after one in the Wilton School Decorating Cakes reference and idea guide book. The cake is a raspberry chocolate cake that baked up very high so I kept the dome instead of cutting it down. The frosting is cream cheese, with vines and leaves with raspberries where the flowers would be

John Deere Tractor Cake
I made this cake for my uncle's 80th birthday and modeled it after a John Deere model 80 tractor. The tractor is made of a cake I made in a loaf pan, the large tires are glazed donuts, and the front tires are cake donuts frosted black. The trailer is a cake board, and the hay bales are small loaves frosted green then pricked with a toothpick to give them texture.
