Chocolate cake with cookies 'n cream filling. The "Whimsical Bakehouse" was key to learning how to do variegated icing, chocolate transfers and the filling - though much more practice is required. Most importantly, my daughter loved it for her 4th b-day and it tasted it delicious (or so I was told).
First attempt at candy melts and with BC icing- the underwater life around perimeter of cake turned out okay. As per usual, ran out of time, so I had to cheat for the island decor. ( Thanx to my daughter for the use of her Polly Pocket doll and accesories). As its only my third 'real' cake, I am satisfied with the final result since I am learning as I go along. Thanx especially to CC which has brought out a passion in me to learn how to decorate cakes! I LOVE THIS SITE!

Loved the pink and brown color scheme. Made this for my neighboor's daughter. Ran out of time so I had to cheat and use a silk flower on top. Pleased with the final turn-out. It was a super moist chocolate layer cake with chocolate ganache center and icing. Decorated with pink dyed coconut flakes. Was very yummy - which was what I was going for along with the looks.
