my first 'scultped' cake. Lots of things I would differently if I had to do it again.. but a fun challenge. It was ordered for a CPA who was retiring.
For my 10 year old neice and 12 year old nephew - for their joint birthday pool party. only requirement was that it was 'luau' and that there was a monkey somewhere on it. Pretzel palm trees, piping gel ocean.
Fondant/Gumpaste accessories. Half Sports ball for bottom of cap. Used cut stir straws in cake to hold wires. Also sculpted a little graduate figure to sit on the cap, but forgot to get a picture of her.

Donated cake (18x24) to feed clean up volunteers. Only thing I would do different is actually mold the fish (at 1am - I didn't have any molds and I wasn't about to try to find any!) It was a hit and I actually received several orders from it!
this was actually an 'end of the school year' cake ordered. the little girl was so excited that she didn't know whether to laugh or cry.. I have to say that made me quite proud. Special thanks to ChristyB for allowing me to use one of her designs as "inspiration" (okay okay - I basically copied it!)
Large cupcake bouquet - 8 " pot ended up holding 24 cupcakes! used royal icing and a toothpick to hold them onto a green celephane coverd styrofoam sphere.
