Kind of self explanatory....the only cherries in the cake are in the bottom layer (cherry preserves) and the cakes are soaked in kirsch simple syrup
This cake was a favorite of Jackie Onassis when she would visit Tavern On the Green. It is a sponge cake rolled with whipped chocolate ganache and then glazed with chocolate ganache. I also handmade the marzipan roses.
