This cake was made by a dear friend who was more confident than I at making camouflage icing! She did a great job! I just had to share. I added the theme candles and it was just enough cake for our small party. This is an 8" single layer chocolate cake with 1/2 dozen chocolate cupcakes.
I made Q's Favorite Chocolate Cake (moist and delicious!) with White Chocolate Raspberry Ganache filling (adapted Cake Central recipe). Then I made a chocolate ganache to enrobe the cake and frosted with 7 minute frosting. The decorations are from melted chocolate chips I "painted" onto wax paper in hearts and music notes.
Inspired by Cake Central I made this cake from scratch for my daughters 6th birthday. BC frosting with nilla wafer beach. I used peach gummi rings for life preservers and added flip flop candles and blue saran wrap around the edge because I ran out of frosting to do a decorative border. This is not my first decorating attempt but it is my first time making frosting.
