This cake was made for a close family friend who loves butterflies. We decided to do a butterfly themed baby shower and this is the cake I came up with. Each tier had a chocolate and strawberry layer and was iced in buttercream. The accents are all fondant including the butterflies. i didn't have a butterfly cutter, so I decided to just "wing it"......(pardon the pun). The Mommy-to-be just loved it and I think this has become my favorite cake!
This is a smaller version of an anniversary cake I made a couple of years ago. It was white cake with aqua buttercream and chocolate shells brushed with Luster Dust. I used Graham Cracker Crumbs for "sand" and the pearls are fondant brushed with Luster Dust.
