This is what our guests feasted on for my son's 1st birthday. I did a single layer, 16" chocolate, bavarian filled cake for the base, then yellow pound 3D duck cake on top, with coconut. I still couldn't get my duck to rise enough to make him completely even, so I chopped off the back half and just laid him down on the cake.
You get a better idea of the base of the cake... I know I needed to clean up the edges around the candy, but it was already 1 in the morning of his birthday party. He's one... what does he know? ;)
Funfetti cake inside, bc icing. white fondant w/patterned tablecloth dusted w/midnight blue lusterdust. (did not like working w/that at all.) Shell border, blue fondant flowers along side with blue stars and gold balls in the center.
This is a chocolate cake, w/bavarian cream filling. I did white drop flowers/w lav. dots, laid on scrolls. The cake is decorated w/green & lavendar dots and has a green leaf t&b border.
