A Friend's Anniversary Cake
Just a small cake for a friend's anniversary. I just did their daughter's wedding cake too (it's listed under square wedding cakes). 8" chocolate chip pound cake with raspberry filling and buttercream icing. The bottom did not photograph well, there are chocolate shavings around it. Fondants bow and flowers. A fun little cake to make!

First In Years!
This is my first wedding cake in years! I wanted to get it perfect becuase it was for a friends daughter. I worked on getting the calla lillies just right for weeks. there is a close up of one in the flowers gallery. The cakes were white chocolate w/ raspberry cream filling and butter rum with vanilla butter cream. The sizes are 6", 8"tall, 10" on 14" and a 12". The buttercream was not fun to smooth, and I never got the corners square (they got covered). All in all it was fun, but a LOT of work!

Topsy Turvy Birthday Cake
My first attempt at a Topsy Turvy cake, and only the second time covering a cake with Fondant. I need to work on it more. I'm finding the key is to get a REALLY smooth crumb coat. . I bow down to those of you that do it well. Anyone have any tips? I needed another reason to practice, and people to eat cake, so I made my own Birthday Cake! It would be pretty silly for me to go buy one, right? Thanks for looking!

Single Calla Lilly
I have made about 30 of these for a wedding cake. It took me a LONG time to figure them out. Getting a real cutter and veiner from Sugarcarft helped. I made them from a half and half mix of gum paste and fondant, then painted and powdered them with petal dust. All the instructions I have found on making them said to make the stamen on florists wire, but I found that making a rope of paste/fondant yellow at one end and green at the other, worked better for me. Thanks for looking!
