Sesame Street Characters
I made these figures to put around a two tier square cake that was decorated like the building of sesame street. I didn't do the cake this time, but i did the all the figures. All together I made 7 characters: Big Bird, Elmo, Bert, Ernie, Grover, Cookie Monster, and Oscar the Grouch. It was really time consuming but i enjoyed every minute of it.

Blocks With Elmo On Top
Made this for a boy, Ben, for his 2nd birthday party. They are just stacked and one long doweled down the middle. Elmo is all fondant (less the toothpicks). The cake was really dense and even after a hour after assembly the bottom cube started to sag from the weight. Next time I'll put support dowels into the bottom tiers.

Mother's Day Roses
Heart shaped cake covered in fondant on the sides only and topped with buttercream roses. I quilted the fondant and found matching pink edible pearls. The cake is a Kentucky Cake (really good) with raspberry flavored buttercream, same as the roses. We had 100% humidity the night i was making the roses. You can see how some of them droop. I must have remixed the buttercream 8 times until i said - forget about it.... this will have to do.

I'm very proud on my fondant covering. This was my first time covering a cake that had angles (the arms). Thanks to all the cc members for the inspiration.

The Quilt Project
This cake was for the opening party and fundraiser for thequiltproject.com Red velvet cocoa cake with cream cheese filling. I tried to capture the essence of the project's goal in the cake, which included traveling to organic farms all over the world documenting their communities and getting a quilt piece to build the world's largest quilt. Quilt is fondant farm and granary are Styrofoam covered with fondant.

Police Badge Birthday Cake
Made this for my brother-in-law. it was a surprise, his wife secretly got me a photo of the badge. And boy was he surprised! I had originally made the crest in the middle of the badge, but the royal icing didn't set fast enough and when i removed it from the paper, it broke apart. Any advice? This cake was a learning experience. Free cutting a 7 point star is not a good idea. For the fondant I printed out a 7 point start and cut it out to use as a template. Templates are good :-) The cake is yellow cake with fresh strawberry filling.

Princess Crown Tiara Cookies
I made these as an accompaniment to a Princess Doll Cake for a little girls 6th birthday. She was so excited when she saw the cookies (and the doll) They are iced in royal icing. Not one of my cleanest jobs b/c i was doing them at night way too late. and probably with not enough lighting :-) I had to make the cookie cutter also b/c i couldn't find a crown of any kind in my nearby stores. The little girl was happy and so am I !

Princess Doll Cake
My 1st attempt at a doll cake, I'm quite happy witht he day it turned out. I wasn't sure which way to go with the design, so i just let it speak to me. I had originally sketched a completely different design. The doll came from the birthday girl, a princess aurora barbie which definitely gave the cake a special touch. Inside is alternating layers of white and chocolate cake with alternating layer of bright pink and white butter cream. It had a nice color scheme when cut. I had so much fun making this that i can't wait to make another one. :-) thanks for all CC members for inspiration

Holiday Cookies
I made these Star of David cookies in addition to the dreidel and Menorah cookies for our family holiday Hanukkah party. My son accidentally broke some of them. I made them in a nice light blue / teal icing that matched my MILs house decor as well as simple while ones. Some people thought they were snowflakes ... happy holiday everyone

Dreidel Cookies
I made these for my mother-in-law for the family Hannuka party. We had our version of secret Santa :-) There are 6 grand kids in the family, so all of my son's cousins enjoyed these cookies. Basic sugar cookies with a bit of shortening so they hold their shape and don't spread too much (i had a bad experience with that once) the icing is regular sugar icing. I made different variations of the cookies b/c there are 4 Hebrew letters and i wanted to represent all of them.

3Rd Wedding Anniversary Cake
I made this for my 3rd wedding anniversary. I decided to make a cherry blossom (sort of) cake. I never made flowers or branches before. The cake was made from scratch using a cake flour recipe. The filling is oreo cookie, cool whip and cream cheese. Lower level i covered in fondant but it ripped when i covered the top layer (it was very dry) so I ended up icing the sides. The branches are chocolate frosting and the flowers, leaves are fondant marzipan. I was short on time, i finished this cake in 2 hours

Husbands Birthday Cake - Gone Fishing
My husband and his twin brother love to fish, so i decided to make a cake for them this year that celebrates that love. this is the first time i ever tried marzipan figures or anything, usually i just do decorative shapes, it came out better than i expected. The tree is being held up by a wooden skewer and has coconut shaving to look like snow. The 'puddle' in the middle is actually blue jello that set to fast :-) I even put in a small tackle box and dead fish :-)

Special Bikers Fathers Day
All the men/fathers in my family are big Harley buffs. My father in one own two , do so his brothers, and my husband and his brothers are all thinking about getting one. So, i took some inspiration from them and created this Harley Fathers Day Cake. This was my first cake ever using fondant. It took a long time to mix the black color. But it was worth the time and effort. Everyone asked me where i purchased it from. I found the logo and downloaded it from http://brandsoftheworld.com/
