Covered in buttercream! Only the flag is gumpaste.
This is the first cake I've ever covered in buttercream only. I know for most it's easier than working with fondant....but not for me. I may attempt another at some time for practice...but for now, i believe I'll stick with fondant. I am however, very very happy with how my roses turned out.
I did this cake for my best friends wedding. The cake was soooooo heavy the cake stand buckled!
This cake was made for my grandfathers 90th birthday. It's made to look like a table with things aged to perfection...a bottle of wine, cheese and grandpa!
My cousin was assigned a project for school. The guidelines stated the project had to be 3D, include a likeness of the student, 10 important dates, a poem (from a previous assignment), 10 of their favorite things and have 5 hidden secrets (the little black box). This cake is the result. Her teacher loved it.
