50Th Anniversary
I was honored that my mother-in-law asked me to make their 50th anniversary cake. Given I'm not a professional by any means it was nice that she thought I would do a good job. I was pleased with the outcome. White cake with vanilla buttercream frosting. Flowers are made with chocolate clay and painted in gold luster dust and pink disco powder.

Kung Fu Panda
This was for my nephew Zane's 2nd birthday. His Mom thought it was cute that I put Kung Fu Zane on the cake. The bamboo are pretzel rods purposely covered "roughly" with chocolate clay. I took my cue from the scene where Po climbs to the top of the shelves and does "the perfect splits" to get a cookie.

Sesame Street Birthday Cake
This was for my nephews 1st birthday. We needed something that would travel long distance well and she wanted no fondant as no one in the family likes the taste. I searched on the internet, pulled ideas from several cakes and this is what I came up with. Chocolate and vanilla cake with buttercream frosting.

Mardi Gras Birthday Cake
My girlfriends daughter had a Mardi Gras themed Sweet 16 birthday party. I was thrilled when she hugged me and said this looks like it should be on tv! I am not naive and realize a professional would have done a better job, but it was still nice to hear! The idea to use champagne glasses for pillars just came to me. I'm sure it's been done plenty but it wasn't something I saw. The mask on top was done in white chocolate that was painted into the underside of an actual mask (homemade mold), then details were piped in with frosting. Next time mask will be done in all chocolate.

Osu Wedding Cake
A friend of mine recently married her OSU obsessed fianc?e...which worked out great because she too is OSU obsessed! She found this great cake topper and very much wanted it to be the center attraction of the cake! No traditional white for this couple! The entire cake is strawberry with buttercream frosting. There were 3 flavors of cupcakes, all with edible toppers as well as homemade buckeyes. This was the first time I ever did "cake" for something so huge! The bride, groom and parents were all very pleased and I was asked to make cakes for 3 other weddings during the reception!
