Angelica's Luau Cake
I made this for a friend's sister's 30th birthday. It's a 5-7-9. Bottom tier is fondant strips to look like a grass skirt. All flowers are handmade - hibiscus and plumeria, man that took a long time! But I had fun and they loved it.
I made this for my cousin's 3rd birthday. She's Abby Cadabby obsessed. It's a 6" and 9" buttercream with fondant accents. I made the topper from fondant also. Man it took a long time! She's holding a pumpkin because Abby hasn't perfected her magic yet and she turns everything into pumpkins. Even the present she brought for Riley. ;-) I got the idea for the fondant "lacing" from a super cute cake by _ChristyB_ . TFL :)
This was for my sons' birthday party a few weeks ago. They both love legos, and my older son was really into the Lego Batman video game. Hence the black and yellow blocks. TFL!
Pink And Brown Baby Shower Cake
I made this for my sister's baby shower last weekend. I got my inspiration for it from many cakes I've seen here on CC. The bottom tier is fondant. The top 2 tiers are frostin pride with fondant accents. My bow on top got a bit smooshed on the 45 minute drive to her house, but I'm still really happy with it overall. TFL!
I made this for my son's first birthday last year. I loved the Jungle cake by avenje and adapted mine to be just giraffes because of my crazy giraffe obsession. This was one of the first cakes I've made, and it was definitely the biggest, so I was super happy when party guests from a different party were asking where I got the cake from. Any constructive criticism is welcome. I make cakes as a hobby and of course my family and friends are so nice they never say anything negative. Thanks for looking! :)
I made this cake for my son's 5th birthday last year. He loved it and that's what matters, right?! I cut the logo out of fondant, "glued" it on and painted it. And painted the entire top tier with silver luster dust. For frosting I used Pastry Pride and after a LOT of red coloring, I still never achieved a really red color. In person it didn't look quiet as pink though...thankfully! I got the inspiration from the many other Transformer cakes on CC. Thanks for looking.
Patriotic Yet Romantic
I made this for a friend's aunt and uncle's anniversary/uncle's birthday. Simple white cake/vanilla pudding and chocolate cake/chocolate pudding. Flag is fondant. Gumpaste flowers are my version of the fantasy flowers on the Wilton website. I wanted a ruffle-y flower to add that soft touch. Thanks for looking.
Dinosaur Birthday Cake
I made this cake for my son's friend's 5th birthday. Everyone loved it and I had fun making it. It turned out much better than I expected! Thanks to DianeLM, her dino cake gave me my inspiration!
Sugar Plum Themed Cake
I made this cake for a friend of my mom. It's one of my first "real" cakes I've made outside of my cake classes. 6" white/custard, 8" chocolate/banana, 10" white/strawberry cakes. Non dairy whipped cream topping. I made this to match the nursery bedding the MTB chose. All hand piped. The dark purple band on the top tier is a little crooked which really bugs me, but overall I think it turned out well. Also, the MTB had stars as the cake table decor so I added sparkley stars and clouds.
