All bc, single layer choc. cake and icing. This was for a friend at work who's had a little obsession with buying china cabinet on ebay lately...
2 layers 6" and 8" covered in bc. I colored it w/a little bit of yellow. The honey is piping jel colored with orange. There are candy bees stuck all around the sides.
all ivory bc, roses are chocolate bc with a little rose icing to make them stiffer
2 - 8" yellow cakes and 2 - 6" yellow cakes stacked. Covered in bc and airbrushed with yellow & a little brown. I used jel over the top to make it look like drippy honey. The name above the door is the name of the bday boy. Usually at work we write "HUNNY" instead.
All bc. I started the cake on Thursday, then came back Friday with my own handprint cookie cutter to finish it. Much easier than trying to draw a hand.
This was iced in whippy but I did use bc for the green, white and red parts. I airbrushed the sides blue and then colored more whippy blue to smear over the top and make the round earth glob... it was pretty messy! :-)
I just finished this cake yesterday. It's all bc. I'm starting to realize that all the wedding cakes I'm assigned at work, kind of look the same! :-)
This is a wedding cake I just finished today at the bakery. It's all buttercream & the bride supplied the fabric ribbon. I used satin rose icing for the roses, b/c I guess it holds up better than buttercream. It was definitely stiffer and my hand is sore! :-)
This was my first wedding cake I decorated at work this week! It was very scary and stressful, but alot of fun once I got over my nerves. Hopefully I will get better and better. Everything is ivory bc.
This was for a baby shower last month. It took FOREVER to put all those stars on, I don't know what I was thinking. It was white cake with bc. Making the white chocolate toppers was fun, though!
Chocolate cake/buttercream frosting. I used a cupcake top for the baseball. This was for my fiance's nephew's 2nd bday. Of course it was on my lap and on the way when I realized I put the "2" on first base instead of second! Oh well, nobody said anything. Oh and I love my grass tip -- camoflauges a multitude of sins!
Choc cake, buttercream icing, mmf accents. So much fun, my fiance helped knead mmf for me. The graduate did a lot of theatre in high school, so I made drama masks for him.
this was for friend' bday, she sings in a band & occassionally plays the tambourine. It's not as nice as I had hoped but I got started on it late... oh well it tasted good! I used vanilla wafers for the tambourine.
My first basketweave! And my hand was killing me! I need practice, but it was so much fun. Doing the little 6" cakes makes it much easier & faster, too. I'm sure I've seen the Joy cake somewhere on here, so thanks! The other one, I just went to town on whatever tips I felt like playing with... Merry Christmas!
This was for my future sil's shower yesterday. I loved decorating the little 6-inch cake, although I ran out of time/energy, so it's not as good as I would have liked. Everyone thought it was good, though.
Choc cake, Choc BC. I was trying to cover the cake in roses, like on the cover of one of the Wilton books, but my hand was killing me after making 12 roses! Some of them look more like cabbages, but I'm still happy with it. Everything looks better in chocolate. :-)

Another try... this was for future mil's domino party. More charcoal than black, but oh well. Lemon cake with all bc icing.
This was for bf's coworker's homewarming party. After I started, I remembered how bad I am at covering chocolate cake with light colored icing. And the green of the writing blended in with the blue of the icing! :-(
For my bf's sil. 4-layer chocolate cake w/chocolate bc. 2nd layer of blue frosting w/mmf ribbon & accents. The top frosting starting smearing w/the chocolate bc. Oh well, it tasted good! First fondant attempt, ever. So much fun.
