Nascar Grooms Cake
This was the grooms cake for my cousins wedding. Her hubby loves Nascar and especially Dale Jr. The cars were provided by my cousin. It survived an over 3 hour drive in June heat! The cake turned out great and was my signature dark fudge cake. Yum!
Garden Cake With Hydrangeas And Dragonflies
This was a cake for my cousins wedding. We traveled over 3 hours in June weather to deliver it to her. Luckily I was able to talk her into keeping the cake inside the house instead of out in the June sun. The flowers are all made out of gumpaste and she provided the dragonflies that she had purchased at Hobby Lobby (I wish they would have been smaller). I think the cake turned out beautiful and survived the trip mostly unharmed :(
Pink And White Polka Dot Baby Shower Cake
The top tier was strawberry and the bottom was sour cream white cake. I iced them both in buttercream and used MMF for the cut out Circles. The ribbon and the bow are fabric (customer did not want to pay for MMF ribbon and bow :( ) The picture does not do the colors justice, it was a beautiful shade of pale pink with bright white spots and ribbon. Will try to find out what I did to the camera.
Jack In The Box
This was alot of fun to make. I iced the cake in buttercream using skim coats for the colors and details of the box. The clown is made out of my signature Nutmeg Butter Cookie (and is delicious BTW :) ) I then placed the cookie on a piece of cardboard and iced all the details once again utilizing the skim coat method. I elevated the cookie off the cake to give the appearance that Jack was coming up out of the box but cutting 3 dowel rods slanted so that the cookie would be elevated and supported.
Ring Of Roses
Here is an upclose photo of the Ring of Roses cake. Iced in ivory buttercream with edible pearls dusted with cappacinno petal dust and super pearl. The roses are out of royal icing. The whole cake was sprayed with super pearl luster airbrush spray. The cake board is covered in ivory fondant and the edges are embossed with a delicate floral theme.
Pulled And Blown Sugar Cornucopia
This is my first time making a Cornucopia out of pulled and blown sugar. I did this piece at a class with B. Keith Ryder. He was an awesome teacher and I really think I am going to enjoy playing with hot sugar! It took me 6 tries to get this Cornucopia. It is a pretty large piece to be blowing. I am very proud of this!!!
Ring Of Roses
The cake is iced in Ivory buttercream and the roses are make out of royal. I covered the board with fondant and then embossed a delicate floral pattern around the entire board. I then attached edible pearls that had been coated in a mixture of cappeccino petal dust and super pearl. This is one of my very favorite cakes to make.
Mercedes Benz Gl450
This is a more detailed picture of the Mercedes. This was such a fun cake to make!
Mercedes Benz Gl450
One of my customers sells for a beauty product company and qualified for regional vice president. As a reward, she earned this Mercedes. She wanted her new vehicle duplicated into a cake for her presentation ceremony. I think it turned out super awesome!
Tea Pot Cake
I don't remember where I saw this cake the first time, but I fell in love with it and have been wanting to make if for some time. The handle and spout were done in fondant with Tylose mixed in. Cake is iced in buttercream. Detail work on spout and handle were done in royal.
Shrek Deluxe Deco Kit
This is another deco kit that was deluxed. I charge an extra fee for the deluxe version and I use icing instead of an airbrush for the grass and water and retaining walls. The cobble stone walkway is airbrushed. Customer loved it!
Scrolls With Gumpaste Flowers
This is the side of the small anniversary cake that I made. I love the tone on tone. It showed up darker than it really was. Cake turned out very lovely.
Scrolls With Small Gumpaste Arrangement.
I did not make these gumpaste flowers. This was a last minute cake order (yesterday) and so I had to purchase a premade arrangement that I dismanted and reassembled to my liking. I have posted a seperate photo of the sides of this cake.
The lady that ordered this cake daughter asked her father who was turning 30 what he wanted on his cake. She asked him "Daddy, do you want princesses on your birthday cake?" to which he answered "no, I think I might get batman". His wife heard the conversation and that is why he got batman. I thought the little girl's idea was cute!!
Small Wedding Cake
This was the main cake for a lady at my church that was getting married at her home and needed an affordable cake that fed alot of people. I made this one and an additional sheet cake for extra servings. I made all of the silk flower arrangements and was very pleased with how they turned out.
Very Small Wedding Cake
This was for a lady at our church that did not have alot of money to spend on her wedding cake but needed alot of servings. I also made a seperate sheet cake for extra servings. I made all of the silk flower arrangements myself and was very pleased with how they turned out.
Elegant Congradulations Cake
This cake was made for a lady who had just been promoted to the Regional Vice President of a home based facial product company. They wanted something simple yet elegant.
Cell Phone Smash Cake
This is the smash cake I made to go with the cell phone cake. I always give away a 5" round single layer smash to my customers who are celebrating their child's first birthday.
Here's my version of one of my favorite CC cakes! Can't remember who made it originally, but I really thought it was super cute! All iced in buttercream.
3 Tiered Ivory Cake With Vines And Leaves
Cake iced in buttercream. Vines and Leaves in lighter ivory shade.
3 Tiered Buttercream In Ivory
Cake is iced in ivory buttercream with piping in several shades lighter ivory. Orchids are silks.
Pale Blue Squares With Pearls And Cameos
This is one of my favorite cakes. This one I made for the Oklahoma Sugar Arts Show in Tulsa in Oct 2006. I won 1st place in the professional division and I also took it to the Kansas State fair and won 1st place on it there. All of the flowers are made out of gumpaste and the cameo was made from a mold I made myself. Hope you enjoy!
Cars Smash Cake
This is modeled after a DecoPac cake kit. I wanted to show an upclose shot of how I upgrade my kit cakes to increase sells. Instead of airbrushing the road and the grassy area, I use a skim coat of icing instead. It really makes the cake look alot nicer and is a nice way to increase a sale. I give these 5" smash cakes away free with order on the child's first birthday. It is a nice way of letting my customers know they are appreciated! I thought it turned out so cute!
