Garden Cake With Hydrangeas And Dragonflies
This was a cake for my cousins wedding. We traveled over 3 hours in June weather to deliver it to her. Luckily I was able to talk her into keeping the cake inside the house instead of out in the June sun. The flowers are all made out of gumpaste and she provided the dragonflies that she had purchased at Hobby Lobby (I wish they would have been smaller). I think the cake turned out beautiful and survived the trip mostly unharmed :(

Pink And White Polka Dot Baby Shower Cake
The top tier was strawberry and the bottom was sour cream white cake. I iced them both in buttercream and used MMF for the cut out Circles. The ribbon and the bow are fabric (customer did not want to pay for MMF ribbon and bow :( ) The picture does not do the colors justice, it was a beautiful shade of pale pink with bright white spots and ribbon. Will try to find out what I did to the camera.

Jack In The Box
This was alot of fun to make. I iced the cake in buttercream using skim coats for the colors and details of the box. The clown is made out of my signature Nutmeg Butter Cookie (and is delicious BTW :) ) I then placed the cookie on a piece of cardboard and iced all the details once again utilizing the skim coat method. I elevated the cookie off the cake to give the appearance that Jack was coming up out of the box but cutting 3 dowel rods slanted so that the cookie would be elevated and supported.

Ring Of Roses
Here is an upclose photo of the Ring of Roses cake. Iced in ivory buttercream with edible pearls dusted with cappacinno petal dust and super pearl. The roses are out of royal icing. The whole cake was sprayed with super pearl luster airbrush spray. The cake board is covered in ivory fondant and the edges are embossed with a delicate floral theme.

Pulled And Blown Sugar Cornucopia
This is my first time making a Cornucopia out of pulled and blown sugar. I did this piece at a class with B. Keith Ryder. He was an awesome teacher and I really think I am going to enjoy playing with hot sugar! It took me 6 tries to get this Cornucopia. It is a pretty large piece to be blowing. I am very proud of this!!!

Batman Cake
The lady that ordered this cake daughter asked her father who was turning 30 what he wanted on his cake. She asked him "Daddy, do you want princesses on your birthday cake?" to which he answered "no, I think I might get batman". His wife heard the conversation and that is why he got batman. I thought the little girl's idea was cute!!

Small Wedding Cake
This was the main cake for a lady at my church that was getting married at her home and needed an affordable cake that fed alot of people. I made this one and an additional sheet cake for extra servings. I made all of the silk flower arrangements and was very pleased with how they turned out.

Pale Blue Squares With Pearls And Cameos
This is one of my favorite cakes. This one I made for the Oklahoma Sugar Arts Show in Tulsa in Oct 2006. I won 1st place in the professional division and I also took it to the Kansas State fair and won 1st place on it there. All of the flowers are made out of gumpaste and the cameo was made from a mold I made myself. Hope you enjoy!

Cars Smash Cake
This is modeled after a DecoPac cake kit. I wanted to show an upclose shot of how I upgrade my kit cakes to increase sells. Instead of airbrushing the road and the grassy area, I use a skim coat of icing instead. It really makes the cake look alot nicer and is a nice way to increase a sale. I give these 5" smash cakes away free with order on the child's first birthday. It is a nice way of letting my customers know they are appreciated! I thought it turned out so cute!
