This was a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. I was sooo proud of it, but unfortunately there was something about the texture of the cake itself I didn't like. I ended up giving most of it away.
My first foray into decorating outside of class!! Me and my sister-in-law made this cake for her kids. It was a full sheet and took forever!!! By the end, when we were adding the border we were so tired it came out a bit crooked. Noone seemed to notice. :)
Ah, the roses. I did about twenty practice roses before my instructor told me I was running out of time and to put some on the cake. I wasn't completely happy with them. (I still practice them every day and can't quite get them right.) Nonetheless, I wasn't too disappointed with the total look in the end. I left space to write something but in the end I didn't want my bad cake writing to ruin the cake!!
My second cake. I wasn't too fond of the clowns, and they half melted on the way home. My son loved it though.
This was my first cake, from Wilton Class 1. Nothing fancy, but I was still quite proud of it.
