Cake For Grandpa
I made this for my Grandpa. We are big St. Louis Cardinal's fans. I realized as soon as we were getting ready to cut into it that I forgot the laces on the baseball. It was my first time torting & I used a chcolate ganache filling. It was alot more work & none even noticed. I won't be doing that again. But everyone loved it so that was great.

Star Wars R2D2
This is R2D2 from Star Wars. I made this for my son's 9th birthday. I also made it in 2005 for his 7th bday. He had a sleepover with his best friends from school & they all loved this cake! I was brave enough this time to do the zig zags. I should have done a crumb coat because you can see some chocolate cake showing through, but I was very busy & this was done rather quickly. I do think my colors were better on my 2005 version. It is The Cake Mix Doctor's Darn Good Chocolate Cake & everyone loved it

Happy Birthday Grandpa
I made this for my Dad's birthday. It is from the Wilton Beginner's Book. My 4 1/2 year old daughter helped. She did the stars & rosettes on the left side. I used the Cake Mix Doctor's Darn Good Chocolate Cake (without chocolate chips) recipe & it was delicious. I doubled the recipe.

Scooby Doo Cake
This was my first attempt at making a cake with a Wilton shaped pan. After I baked it and took it out of the pan, I really thought I'd gotten in over my head! We were just amazed at how it turned out. And even I couldn't believe that I made it myself! If I can do it, ANYone can! My son loved it for his 5th Birthday Party.
