A basket or barrell full of water and apples! Halloween fun! Cake is a pumpkin spice cake with cream cheese icing. The basket is made of fondant, as well as the apples. They are painted with luster dust. The water is dark blue icing with a thin coat of piping gel.
All buttercream with real flowers and ribbon
The side of the cake is purple ribbon. I drew Tinkerbell on top, and was happy with most of it except for her face. It obviously doesn't look like Disney's tinkerbell in the face. It also feels a little plain to me, although I'm not sure why. Maybe next time I'd use a VERY pale pink in the background to punch it up a bit. Everything (except the ribbon) is buttercream
This was a combination of a few ideas. I used the little heroes pan from Wilton to do Uncle Sam. The fireworks were done with jumbo marshmallows. The blue background is a little darker than I had originally imagined, but overall, I was happy with it.
Pink and Brown Fondant. I initially was only going to use one shade of pink. I did the light pink and made the bow, then set it up to dry overnight. The next morning, the light pink had REALLY faded. Very noticably. I've never had this happen with fondant before. So I made a medium shade and finished it with 3 colors.

Stacked Construction. Frosted in buttercream. Flowers are royal. Bow is Fondant. Tinkerbell is from the Disney Store.

Simple round cake, covered in fondant. Bow done in fondant, too. Cake painted with pink luster dust.
Made with layered 8" square. All done in buttercream. Booties on top are decorated marshmallows.
