My first cake to a paying customer :-) The penguin is a replica of the favorite toy of the birthday girl. The inside is banana bread (without the nuts) covered in marzipan.
This cake was made for the retirement of a software engineer. Pictured is the ICN, the last train he worked on before retiring as well as the two hobbies he will have more time for after retiring: Sailing in Switzerland as well as RV-ing in Canada. The sign says "Gute Fahrt in die Pensionierung", which means "Wishing you a good drive into retirement". It's a Hummingbird cake with Dulce de Leche-filling and was made to feed 30 people.
Made this cake for my daughter's first birthday today. First time making a teddy-bear, wasn't too happy with how it turned out. I think the head needs to be bigger. But overall I was quite happy with the cake :-)
I made this cake for my parents' 30th wedding anniversary. The church on it is a replica of the church they got married in. First time I made cupcakes, and they really didn't turn out the way I wanted them to (they were not round and the wrapping paper turned brown in some places).
Made these at a week intensive class in London. I normally don't make cupcakes, just fondant cakes, but I thought these turned out beautifully.
My very first two-tier cake. I just wanted to practice, so I made my brother a birthday cake, which ended up being this wedding cake. He loved it :-) I was very happy with how this cake turned out. Was very happy with my roses (first time making roses), but my cornelli lace didn't look like cornelli lace at all (lines were too far appart), so I added some dots to the design...
My first 3D cake. Really had trouble making the towers and I think my dragon looks like a tame crocodile, but still, overall I was happy with the result. Sorry for the bad picture quality.
