Birthday cake for husband of someone I work with. He coaches a little league team called, obviously, the Cardinals! Wish my diamond had been better but I was pretty happy with the cardinal. Thanks for looking.
iced in buttercream with fondant stripes and fondant "flowers" - it is a cutter set I got from global sugar art. Thanks for looking!
My first try with the sps system - held up for quite a long ride with cake. Wish my top had been a little straighter - though somehow it did not look quite as bad in real life as it does in the picture! Ha Ha! Obviously had issues with the buttercream - think it was too humid that weekend. Not one of my better efforts....however, they were happy with it. Family was putting real flowers on cake at reception.
The Easter Bunny's House
This was for a little girls birthday party the day before Easter. Cake is iced in buttercream, stand up Wilton house pan also in buttercream. Veggies and eggs are marzipan, Bunny, wheelbarrow, shovel etc are fondant or fondant gumpaste mix. This cake was a lot of fun! Thanks for looking.
Flowers And Monsters!
My first try at cupcakes! The little girl wanted pink flowers for the girls in her class and then sports for the boys. I thought a football on a green cupcake would be to plain so I suggested monsters and she agreed (since boys are monsters anyway!). I like the monsters a lot better than my "flowers"! Ha ha. Thanks for looking
Saw a similar (though way better) cake on CC - sorry I cannot remember who it was. Made for the March birthdays in my office. Several (older of course) people said it reminded them of Laugh In - very "mod" looking flowers!
This was actually a baby shower cake - but it looks more like a wedding shower cake t me! I just do not understand why people around here do not want baby shower cakes to look like baby shower cakes - you know, booties, rattles etc. Guess I am getting old and just not "with" it! Ha Ha. Buttercream base, fondant decorations.
brides colors were cream, chocolate brown and gold. This was the charm cake for the bridal luncheon. All buttercream. It was in december so the flower is "supposed" to be a poinsettia - did not do too well on that!
Yes this realy is for a fifty year old - CLOWNS! Found this wierd but to each his own I guess! All buttercream except for clown heads (plastic). Wish my clowns had been a little plumper looking.....Thanks for looking
decorated to match mom's bedding choice. Iced in buttercream and buttercream decorations except for the baby of course - fondant. Thanks for looking!
cake is buttercream, decorations are fondant or fondant/gumpaste mix. Sandly this cake did not make it to its destination(or so I was told) and I did not get paid for it....A cowrkers next door neighbor ordered it and the cowrker was taking it to her. She told me that on the way home the top of the cake "fell in" and the whole thing slid back....hmmmm - seemed kind of odd but I guess it is possible - the sliding back anyway. Oh well, lesson learned! Thanks for looking.
My first try at making a royal icing tiara. I had no problem with getting it off the paper without breaking.....just wish it had been a little smoother looking (and that I had silver dragees!) Oh well, I was happy with the sides at least! Thanks for looking.
Buttercream decorations, white chocolate cake with strawberry filling. Thanks for Looking!
I am not really familiar with American Girl but I looked at the website and it seemed sort of old fashioned so this is what I came up with. Cake is iced in buttercream, girl and decorations are fondant. Thanks for looking!
Thanks bunches to cakelady77 for the idea for the board and to Chyan66 for her awesome blue dragona nd most importantly the photo of it crumbcoated and the instructions on cake sizes and cutting. Without that I would never have attempted this and it is definately the best cake I have done! You know that picture you have in your mind of how you want something to look? Well this came out just like I had it pictured! My friend was thrilled. Thanks for looking.
iced in buttercream, fondant letters and fondant bodice on dress. Was really happy with how this one turned out. Thanks for looking
This cake was in one of the Wilton Yearbooks - 2004 maybe? Can't quite remember now. Butterflies are fondant with royal icing bodies, cake is iced in buttercream. Thanks for looking!
