September Sunflowers And Beads
I made this for a surprise birthday party for my mom. She walked by this 6 or 7 times before she realized that it was a cake and not a flower arrangement! Top tier is 6" 2-layer buttermilk devil's food cake with vanilla buttercream. Bottom cake is 10" 3-layer cake in same flavors and the entire thing is covered in chocolate hazelnut pirouette cookies. I arranged the flowers on top in styrofoam instead of sticking them in the cake so my mom was able to bring the arrangement home.

Duck Grad Cake
My sister collects rubber duckies so I made her a duck graduation cake... complete with a pond! The sheet cake is half chocolate/half vanilla cake, the duck and cake the frog is on are strawberry, and the two round cakes under the duck are funfetti. Tons of blue buttercream with all gumpaste accents and critters. The tassels on the duck's and frog's hats are made with sewing thread in her school's colors. Not bad for my first time using gumpaste!

Boy Baby Shower
This was for my cousin's baby shower. The cake is marble cake with milk chocolate frosting filling, buttercream, and color flow accents. The cake was a big hit and disappeared really quickly! I also knitted a blanket for the baby with the same color theme (blue, green, yellow, and white).

Spring Flowers
This was for my aunt's surprise 60th birthday party. The party was in April and didn't have a theme, so I decided to have fun with flowers. I had to self-teach how to do the morning glories because I haven't taken Wilton's 3rd course yet... Marble cake with store-bought milk chocolate frosting filling, covered in buttercream. The flowers are mostly royal icing with some buttercream sweet peas.

Swimming Duck
My teenage sister collects rubber duckies and asked that I make her a duck cake for her birthday. The cake didn't rise all the way and she had more friends invited than I had originally anticipated, so I improvised by making a 1-layer 13x9 chocolate cake and made it look like the duck was swimming on a pond. The duck is yellow cake with buttercream and sheet cake is store-bought vanilla frosting with buttercream accents.

Cat Playing With Yarn
I made this for my husbands grandmothers 84th birthday party. She loves kittens, the color purple, & knitting (she actually taught me to knit). The yarn is yellow cake covered in fondant and sheet cake is marble cake with vanilla store-bought frosting, fondant & buttercream accents. The vanilla frosting wrinkled because somebody picked the cake up the wrong way when I asked them not to move it, but another person said it looked like a blanket, so it worked out ok after all!
